My question is did he vote for the bill originally? If so why is he not standing by it?

My state rep, Daryl Adams, who is an independent wrote me back and told me he is voting to override both the male in girls sports bill and the constitutional carry bills. Daryl has always had open communications and even when I disagree I respect that.

Wow, that is a big deal. Nice job!

Look for every left wing group to boycott the state. Don’t be surprised if the NFL says no more Super Bowls in NoLa or is the NCAA say the sugar bowl is no longer part of the NCAA playoffs.

NOLA can’t handle those crowds anyway with the closed businesses, high crime in tourist areas and majorly understaffed police force. Let them boycott.

He did. He's wanting to keep his sheriff happy. I think his Sheriff is Joseph Lopinto who was a Representative for nine years so im sure there's some politican there. He seemed like a nice guy just disheartened by the hate hes getting. Which is understandable but tension is high because you got one shot and you got politicians changing votes.

Good. This will mostly hurt people in New Orleans that support the tranny shite in the first place.

Not term limited, put probably got pressure from Sheriff Lopinto. Constituent pressure could be effective here. Kenner people would need to weigh in.

Anyone contacted Fred Mills's office yet and heard back?

Been hearing he could flip flop, but not sure that's true.

The Sheriff of Jefferson parish is THE most political powerful local official in Louisiana. Less than it was in the past, but still powerful.

Only way that makes sense is he has dirt and threatens to talk. New Orleans has a police manning crisis and constitutional carry would ease that problem.

The House is down a member in a Democratic district, which means that seat won't count as a vote for an override. At least one Republican Senator--Ronnie Johns, of Lake Charles--will miss the session

Leadership will need to gain a vote in the House and hold the line in the Senate to be successful in overriding vetoes, facing what is certain to be intense pressure from the governor and outside groups.

well thats not right about the house if we're talking about SB118

2021-06-01 - Senate - Senate Vote on SB 118 CONCUR (#643) (Y: 27 N: 9 NV: 0 Abs: 2) [PASS]

2021-05-27 - House - House Vote on SB 118 FINAL PASSAGE (#831) (Y: 73 N: 28 NV: 0 Abs: 4) [PASS]

Senate has to hold, but the House has a vote or two to spare depending on who the Dem house member is that wont be there. DOubtful that they were a FOR vote anyways.

Further proof that sheriff's and their bribe money absolutely trample politics in this state. fricking pricks. He basically told you "frick off. I got paid."

Sheriffs support what fills their coffers, period. There's a reason sheriff's vehemently oppose all marijuana bills. Their daily prisoner stipends being a big part of it.

NCAA is likely to pull it anyway - not enough Kevlar to distribute to players / coaches and tourney officials

The same a-hole that got an all expenses paid golf trip to Sandestin (and God knows what else) from the sheriff's association when he was still in the House. LA politics in incestuous and embarrassing.

Mayors against Constitutional Carry

Gotta love how they can stand up all together. Can we get any conservatism leadership in this state? Of all the sheriff's and mayors and not a single united front in support of this. But these Democrats get to use their platforms without fear and it's all up to grassroots to push back. Lovely
