Why are you feeling good that one person on a NOLA jury can cut loose a felon?

I don’t understand the mentality.

You also don’t understand our jury trial system. If you did, you’d realize why your question is moronic

So does this increase the hours an attorney can bill while retrying hung juries? Only reason I can think they are excited about this.

Im super pumped. If you have a competant prosecutor, the trials will be the same.

Guilty is guilty.

If there is a shadow of a doubt, let him or her go

Are you suggesting this will increase pleas?

And cost the system a lot more money. I just spent time on a federal texas jury where one person thought he was a nice boy. She rolled in on her little rascal and warmed up her neck cushion in the microwave. Our judge thought it was so cut and dry and we would be having state paid lunch two hours after start of deliberation. Nope, 5 days in she said no amount of evidence would get her to change to guilty. She even started bringing up self defense even though the actual defense team never mentioned it. No need to mention his two esteemed colleagues had already plead guilty to get deals of 10+ years. One retard should not outweigh 10 times more people.

Criminal defense attorneys generally charge flat fees for representation, not by the hour. This passing isn’t going to line our pockets, in spite of the bullshite some opponents have spewed.

The other 49 states has unanimous jury, still have their SJWs and is getting along just fine.

After seeing the results of tonight's voting do you think they are getting along fine????

You will now see more and more criminals plea to lesser charges.

A win for criminals. A big loss for victims and their families.

It's mesmerizing how people so against this amendment have no fricking clue how criminal jury trials work.

That is already how the system works.

This will only make it worse.

Could there be a money angle here?

More mistrials = more retrials = more work for attorneys.

There are more than a few lawyers in the legislature.

Trial Lawyers contribute lots of money to political candidates.
