Because being the #1 most incarcerated country in the world isn't good enough for you?

Who do you think is going to fill these things?

If you follow the real news which apparently you don’t .. under Trump and Stephen Miller, it now only takes 15 days to process one illegal (from start to finish)

Under Biden, it took 3-5 years

Cool, so why do we need multiple detention centers costing tax payers billions of dollars a year if they are only going to be there 15 days?

Build a fricking airport.

Apparently you are not very bright...

Alabama has a significant prison overcrowding problem and it isn't because the folks in there are guilty of signing too loud in the choir...

Oh, so they are going to disappear in a few years after the problem is solved, and the taxpayers won't be paying for these centers for the rest of eternity?

The centers will save the taxpayers money. Constantly catching and releasing illegal criminals is not cost effective.

The damage done to American taxpayers in property loss and death and injury to their families mounts over time.

The taxpayers foot the bill keeping the illegal criminals in America from all the money diverted for all their care and upkeep.

It is cheaper to catch them, temporarily housing them, and then deporting them.

Again you are so damned short sighted. Of course nobody wants the money spent but understand that shipping them out in a singular manner is way more costly than grouping up, sorting out and dispersing them

Why? Because it’s about $50 billion cheaper than the way we are currently deporting them.

Also, this detention center can house 3k-5k people. I have heard 2 different numbers so I am not sure which one it is. Did you know that there are millions that need to be processed?

One detention center will cost around $400 million/year to operate - we get several of these running across the country and it’s saves billions and billions of dollars.

First, a lot on here were bitching that they aren’t deporting enough.. now a lot on here are bitching because they want to build these detention facilities to speed up the process and deport more. Make up your fricking minds people

By the way.. the money spent on these detention centers are funds taken from illegal migrant housing in hotels. So is it really spending tax payment money?

Oh, so these are really just federal prisons for American citizens.

Alabama has a significant overcrowding problem because it's a corrupt state that puts people in prison for things like drugs, creating a larger black market, crime and generally ruining peoples lives so they can fill for profit prisons. 80-90% of felony cases are linked to drugs.

And now it apparently needs to steal more wealth from out of state people in order to pay for it's heavy handed form of "justice".

But hey, maybe the state can finally find a way to feed them instead of letting people die from starvation.

I'll never live in that state again. I'll come to visit family and that's it.

I'm not sure why we need them to be honest. Just ship them out. Putting them in centers just wastes taxpayers money and now we have to spend all this money building them, maintaining, etc.

Because our regular jails can't fit them all.

You are one dumb mother fricker.

The whole thing is to encourage self deportations. Just the idea of being ‘housed’ there will be a big incentive to gtfo. Especially for the criminal element as they know they are gone once arrested.

Build an airport, give them a parachute and fly them home.

Oh, and put some actual guns on the border to secure it and stop them from coming in to start with so their "solution" doesn't involve trampling on the rights of citizens.

That is actually a good idea. easy identifier if they run off, which in turn might make the locals reconsider their tonsorial choices.

Another comment from Trump today.

Per Trump this a low number. US is paying a estimated $70,000 per illegal entering the US.

$1.2 Trillion

Oh, so you do want to feed and house them as long as it's a prison.

I want to get them gone and no longer to be a burden on the taxpayers. Instead we're apparently going to spend billions every year so we can keep them here and house them.

"Winning".
