Each of those majors contributes something essential to society's beauty.
If we only have non-creative STEM majors, the world would be a utilitarian dystopia.
Maybe that's how we get there because all books and movies show this as the AI future. A bleak, colorless world devoid of creativity, all in the name of efficiency.

History is one on your list that I might be on the fence about as to whether or not we need the government to lend money to interested students to incentivize more people majoring in it. Do we need more people who make their decision as to whether or not to major in history based on loan availability under government terms?
Economics, Law, and English stand out as fields that require a deeper understanding. History? Seems like it’s just learning a bunch of facts. Everything I need to know about history I can Google. But I didn’t major in history.
It would be helpful if someone can explain why we need the government to offer government loans to history majors.
