Trump hires the best people remember.
Also, why would Manafort take this role knowning he would under so much more scrutiny? Did he have no other choice? It has already been reported that he offered to brief foreign gov't representatives about the progress of the campaign.

Trump Just Hired His Next Scandal
His convention strategy is in the hands of a former lobbyist who's been linked to one corruption scheme after another.

Manafort has offered his services to not one but two presidents driven from power through popular revolution -- Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine and Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines. He has lobbied for Saudi Arabia, a Bahamanian president suspected of narco-trafficking and a former Angolan rebel leader accused of torture.
For this work, Manafort has been well-compensated. He told a congressional oversight panel in 1989 that his firm normally accepted only clients who would pay at least $250,000 a year as a retainer.

If there’s no actual wrongdoing, attack Trump for hiring him.

So why did the Obama admin let it slide for eight years if this was such a high profile case? Or is it just now high profile since Manfort worked for Trump?

Meh,
I think Trump would hire anyone that someone from his inner circle vouched for.
This is a man that spent 10 years hosting a reality show competition in which you hire people that you do not know anything about.

LMAO... How pathetic is it that the left continuously attempts to find the next peg on which to hang their hats? Are they truly this blind and stupid?

You upset your "collusion" isn't even what Manafort was indicted for?
Oh, and no mention of Trump or collusion in a 31 page document. Keep digging!

Knowing a employee has issues is a crime now?
Read more and pay attention to the part where he was fired for nondisclosure after less than three months on the job.

A thread full of Trumpkins actually arguing that Trump shouldn't have vetted Manafort before hiring him on the same morning Manafort is rung up on federal crimes.

So, is this the collusion smoking gun?

Yet you failed to mention that he was fired for cause after a few months and these federal charges are a fricking misdemeanor that we knew about last summer.
