We need more shutdowns

395 total deaths in a county of 4 million people. ICU beds “full” yet Covid deaths haven’t come anywhere near the rise predicted in Houston. If Abbott cucks here the GOP will be in major trouble in this state going forward.

It’s insane everyone in our media and political class can just get away with ignoring the actual data.

And let’s be honest - hospitals in Houston (and likely nationwide) were milking putting Covid people into hospital beds they probably didn’t need to be in to recover money lost during quarantine.

If Abbott caves I wouldn't be surprised if he gets recalled.

This is purely political for Hidalgo.

The data is showing deaths aren't lagging - they aren't rising at all. In fact they are getting lower.

The positive case spike is mostly younger folks.

The Dems don't care how many people they need to put out of work as long as they have their agenda full filled. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the repubs worked together like that.

I don’t think he will let them just for the fact that they couldn’t be trusted

Hidalgo would have Houston locked down until October if she were given the keys

The people of Houston deserve to reap what they sow for putting this bitch in office.

Normal tax paying citizens didn’t put her in there

And ironically, those people will be exempt from the lockdown orders when they protest and riot

That shite makes absolutely no sense. At all. There would have been significantly more closures and bankruptcies as the shutdown stretched out. Her logic is horrendous.

She’s barely older than me. She has absolutely no business running one of the largest counties in America. This has little to do with “science.” It’s all about power and showing up Abbott.

To even entertain her logic you’d have to assume a vaccine or solution is around the corner - and it’s not. We could be years away. Yet these retards would have us believing hiding for an extra month or two would do anything of long term significance.

Well she overplayed her power in the beginning with the stupid mask order. I wear and mask and think others should as well but her threatening to fine people $1000 for not wearing one exacerbated the push back.

Also, there are several surge levels in ICU capacity and houston hospitals are barely over normal capacity. She’s fearmongering to get some power back. She screwed this up as much as anyone and simply wants to deflect blame. That’s what happens when unqualified people with no real experience in anything get elected.

If we had a real media they’d ask her what happened to the eight figure triage hospital

It will all magically go away after the November election.

If they do this, the defiance will be through the roof. You can’t tell people to shut down their businesses and have no answer for it financially. People will choose defiance over the death of their livelihood.
