I remember when this wasn't true. Most on this board pretended to be libertarian leaning conservatives. Now, all you have to offer is "we're not the other guy."

Great salesjob.

Expanding your coalition to anyone and everyone who is unhappy with the majority/governing party is politics 101.

I've never voted or donated to a Democratic Party candidate in my lifetime. As Roger stated, start running more candidates like Massie and Paul then I'll start voting for them. Too bad those guys are the exception and not the rule.

I agree it is too bad, and that they are the exception rather than the rule as they should be. But the reality is that it takes an exceptionally bad republican to even hold a candle to the average marxist democrat in today's democrat party. Reality dictates that voting for a candidate that is not viable over one that is viable, because they share 92% of your views versus 52% of your views, when the result of doing so is the election of a candidate who holds 10% of your views, is the height of stupidity.

Now, I have candidates that I absolutely will not vote for under any circumstances, but it is high time that everyone realize that we are in a fight for our lives, the lives of our children, and our country.

Great. Your reasoning is "everyone does it."

Which is more reason to not do it. Stupid, low IQ populist politics on either side is pathetic.

You have no representation, you just think you do. I realize I do not, and no politician is going to help me. I'm on my own, and I am thrilled to be that way.

Who is "you people"? Who hates Paul and Massie?

Listen, this isn't hard. We can bitch and moan about Republicans, and for very good reason - they suck. I fricking hate most of them. But you're retarded if you don't understand the difference between them at the wheel and Democrats. And that's the point.

While you hold your nose and vote Republican, the discussion should be about how actual conservatives might assume more control of the Republican party, because like the other poster pointed out - like it or not, we have a two-party system in practice, and that ain't changing.

It is also reality, has always been reality, and will always be reality.

Living outside of reality does nothing for you, your children, your state, or anyone else.

That isn't what needs to change. A Republican party that is actually representative of conservatism is what needs to change. We don't get that by continuing to vote for people who aren't making that happen.

I also think it's fricking priceless for anyone who thinks we should hold our noses and vote for Republicans who aren't conservatives, to call anyone a useful idiot.

These fricking politicians love people like you.

Maybe you guys are the dedicated "burn this bitch down" types. I've been there, and probably will be again. Is that it?

I've stated many times that we might as well let the democrats take us right into the collapse and revolution. If we are going to have to fight it out, I would much rather have to do it myself than for my grandkids to have to fight and die to remain free.

Your position is understandable if that is the thought behind it. I've gone back and forth between being pragmatic and radical myself. I just can't give in to the idea that the only solution is violence and devastation.

You also will never, ever, ever get that by voting third party.

As others have said, the primary stage is where you will get the results you seek.

I don't disagree with this. I just think sitting out the fight inside the Republican party isn't the way to change the Republican party.

In the meantime, you vote to keep the hole that's being dug from getting deeper and deeper, and reality is that voting Libertarian is helping that hole get deeper.

Not really, but if that's the outcome, then that's the outcome.

"Herp, look at what Democrats are doing, derp" isn't how anyone will get my vote. I don't give a frick what Democrats are doing. I already know I'm not voting for Democrats. Tell me why I should vote for you, because that isn't it.

The republican party will continue to shift left as long as you continue to support shitty candidates.

I'm not supporting them because I'm not a fricking sellout.

We aren't getting the results we seek. Trump's supporters love to point out what caused his supposed "outsider" candidacy to succeed. I don't buy it, but they do. If that's the case, why are they so willing to fall right back to it?

That's not my problem.

If "the Leftists" is your best argument for why I should vote for someone who has demonstrated that they won't represent me, you're the problem.

No, they love people like YOU, who support the uniparty.

Thank you for the status quo. You seem to want exactly what we have.

Do you remember the "uniparty" that you Trump types cried about for years?
