Don't get me wrong. If you get a white table from a small town with a lot of kids, they don't tip well either. They don't tip as poorly as black people but I'm just saying. The people who skimp on the tip as a budget saver piss me off a little less because I can see the shame. They're not proud and baby boomer white people who are lower middle class literally just do not know they look so thrilled to give you a 5% tip
But when I worked at upscale places With mostly affluent diners, this black couple living on Calhoun by Audubon would ask for me, stay past closing, the works and tip me almost nothing :lol:
I never added gratuity when I had the option. Sometimes it was a home run gamble, but most often it was exactly as one would expect
