Because, if Biden wins, they will continue unchecked anyway but then the government/big tech could sensor more conservative “sites”

That’s why they are being so brazen. Its a win win if this mail fraud works out

Big Tech is an eyelash away becoming a lot of Mini Tech's. Stupidly overplayed their 203 monopoly that will see them go the way of Bell Telephone.

how would you have 5 different Twitters and 5 different facebooks? The whole appeal of using them is that there is one for the entire world

Look at all the revenue streams of FB, google, Apple, etc. (I'm not familiar with Twitter's business). You split these companies up based on revenue stream(s).

Simple. You separate them by capability.

Easily

Here is a broad example. Break up Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. They are all owned by Facebook.

If they removed their protections doesn’t that open them up to lawsuits? And that would force them to scrutinize each post before allowing someone to post or make comments? Basically forcing them to editorialize.
That seems to go against the whole idea of non censorship.
It just feels like conservatives are butthurt about a privately held company doing what the choose to. They aren’t getting their way so they want big daddy govt to come save them.
Here’s a crazy idea! Don’t use Facebook or Twitter anymore. I have a FB account but no Twitter. I seem to get information just fine without it.

This. The importance of social media to people is psychotically over valued and over stated and pathetic.

To keep one company from controlling and censoring 3 of the biggest social media apps. It would also keep 2 companies from controlling the vast majority of online advertising.

It would force them to adhere to one singular moderation standard and would subject them to oversight on how that moderation is carried out.
