They literally had massive billboards in FL with the word "GAY" on them because people ran with the idiot LEFT WING FRAMING of the bill.
"Persecution" my arse. Hope they move today.
And not to Texas, I swear to God...

This. These people love to whip out their phones and video anything they perceive as "discrimination" and "hate" and forward it to their local propaganda outlet. It would be making the rounds at the national news level by now: "Tonight, radical MAGA residents in Ron DeSantis-controlled Sarasota Florida viciously spew hateful and discriminatory remarks at gay parents during a public event, and we'll show you the disturbing video!!!"

Flee to New York or California and get your pandering.. but pay twice as much and have to worry about rampant crime.
Buh bye.

Mental illness is at an all time high. It should be required to go through an intense screening process before you are allowed to have children.

This article spotlights three families.
I was curious.
So I read it.
Family A states:
“Discrimination and hate?”
That’s not good; I wanted to know more!
So I continued.
The gentleman proffered four examples of “discrimination and hate:”
(1) They had to fight to reverse …
(2) The passage of two pieces of legislation (per democratically held elections) to protect children from woke policies with which the majority of voting parents disagreed:
(3) A kiddo (obviously still developing social skills) thought it was weird their child has two dads:
(4) Again, a democratically held election went the way they didn’t like:
Family B simply explained, “they had an inkling early on that her eldest daughter was gay.”
Family C is concerned (a) for their transgender 15-year-old who’s been bullied; and (b) because of COVID:
My subsequent takeaways ….
These people are doomed to live sad lives.
They’re unhappy because: (a) a bridge almost wasn’t lit in rainbow colors (ultimately it was); (b) a kid was teased at camp (happens to most); (c) many public school parents don’t believe sexual issues ought to be pushed onto their children in classrooms; (d) a family thinks their child might be gay; and (e) a bisexual/transgender teen was bullied in school (newsflash: kids are cruel).
Everyone has the right to live where they feel comfortable.
I genuinely wish these families the best.
But from my perspective, they don’t understand the true meanings of the words discrimination and hate; and they’re in for a long, tormented road ahead.

“Discrimination and hate?”

The gentleman proffered four examples of “discrimination and hate:”
(1) They had to fight to reverse …
quote:
the decision of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to not light up John Ringling Causeway bridge in pride colors in conjunction with the annual Pride Month celebration
(2) The passage of two pieces of legislation (per democratically held elections) to protect children from woke policies with which the majority of voting parents disagreed:
quote:
the Florida Legislature enacted two laws — the Individual Freedom Act, more commonly known as the Stop Wrongs Against our Kids and Employees (WOKE) Act, and the Parental Rights in Education Act
quote:
bill that regulates how race, sexual orientation, and gender identity can be discussed in schools,
quote:
“That Parental Rights bill was the most disheartening because we’re parents, too,” Price said. “Every night we hope that things will change here, but at this point, it literally feels like we are fleeing persecution.”
(3) A kiddo (obviously still developing social skills) thought it was weird their child has two dads:
quote:
In early summer 2022, the family reached a turning point after learning of a playtime interaction at Kellan's summer camp in Sarasota. Kellan’s parents say he proudly described his family and his two dads to another child his age, but was met with negativity. Kellan was later called "weird" by the child, prompting Letschert and Price to speak with the camp leaders.
(4) Again, a democratically held election went the way they didn’t like:
quote:
they felt a growing concern about staying in Sarasota and for the safety of their son after local elections and what Letschert called political overreach, a reference to the election of a slate of conservative candidates that shifted the balance of policy-making power on the Sarasota County School Board.
Family B simply explained, “they had an inkling early on that her eldest daughter was gay.”
Family C is concerned (a) for their transgender 15-year-old who’s been bullied; and (b) because of COVID:
quote:
Pugh and her husband, 52, removed their son from public middle school three years ago because they said classmates bullied him when he identified as bisexual. Their son's transition, coupled with the family’s potential health concerns due to the COVID-19 virus, prompted them to homeschool, his mother said.
My subsequent takeaways ….

Thanks for that breakdown. Completely agree.

I agree. Dave Rubin moved to Florida from California. He's conservative, gay, married, and has two kids. The guy can't stop singing the praises of Governor DeSantis and the state of Florida. He raves about how much better his life is in the "free state of Florida."

That is a great, noble sentiment.
However in 2023 the reality has all too often become dirty.
The people screaming about "intolerance" are generally not content to simply live their lives.
They tend to be Jihadists about their particular cause.
People who simply want to live their lives quietly and in peace generally tend to do just that, not broadcast their misconceptions, hate and THEIR brand of intolerance to the world.
