First can anyone tell me how serious the other two men aside from Watson are about this race and are they all in?

Delgado is not running again is he? What is he up to these days?

Which candidate do you feel will be the best economic-booster? Who can bring jobs into the city of Baton Rouge?

What will Wicker bring to the table besides more of a moderate stance than Broome?

Best I can tell, Wicker brings electability and sanity to the table.

Her politics are in the same wheelhouse as SWB but she isn’t flat out retarded and doing “I won” bullshite.

Not who I would pick under normal circumstances but given the current mayor, she seems like a less fricking stupid alternative.

On the Kip Holden to Sharon Weston-Broome continuum, Tara Wicker leans more towards Holden.

Matt Watson has a great chance to win this. He should easily get in runoff huge turnout from Republicans expected. The two Dims should split votes. You never know in a runoff. He’s a great guy that’s got a clue.

Anyone but that train wreck Broome. Worst Mayor ever in Baton Rouge history and she is doing her damndest to have BR well on its way to becoming the next Jackson.

So are we all in agreement that a vote to Watson might as well be to Broome or one taken away from Wicker?

Or do Broome and Wicker split so much that Watson is in by default? And so these other guys that have no chance...should they bow out?

Is Watson even running ad campaigns yet?

If your objective in the open primary is to get Watson and Wicker in a runoff, I suppose. But I'd argue that Watson has a better chance of winning over Broome in a runoff than over Wicker.

But if enough Watson primary voters defect to Wicker...Watson won't even be in the runoff.

Might be best to avoid the game theory strategy here and just vote for who you think would do best. Broome will be in a runoff, that's a guarantee.

Would the mayor race really affect this, or would this be something that needs to come from a state-wide push.

Unless you are referring to pulling jobs from other areas of the State.

Combination of both. But local politics are important in the selection of sites...especially when it comes to the ITEP program.

This sounds like a stretch to me. BR has only elected a Republican as Mayor twice since the 1870s. Granted, those two times have been within the last 4 Mayors.

Kip had higher margins in South BR than North BR.

Bodi White lost by ~4,000 votes. 5% increase in republican turnout and he wins.

Dude went bankrupt after SWB had BRPD basically hassle his bar customers until all his business dried up and the Alcohol board went in dry on all his shady business practices.
