Youre wasting most of it because the kids are not learning shite in public schools.
Again, if my kid doesn’t get the benefit because of household income and I still have to pay for private school why do I give a shite.

I don’t care if someone else kid gets an opportunity at an education. Thats not for me to care, it’s for their parents to care.

No Child Left Behind tied funding to test scores. Schools also get paid a minimum amount per pupil, like I mentioned in an earlier post.

Youre paying the same regardless. The other kid just gets a choice of a failed inner city school or a better education.

Rest assured, they arent.

Most inner city kids are functionally illiterate.

Don't be disingenuous--
1. Magnets (and some Charters) take the best from that student pool, leaving lesser students to go to lesser schools
2. 100% voucher schools are NOT really "private" schools
3. Vouchers were meant to allow a small number of students to go to existing good private schools

Right. Parents who care will get their child into better schools. Those that dont will do nothing.

The challenge is getting those existing good private schools to accept vouchers.

Do you want these kids stuck in failed schools?

Is public education more important than education?

Many private schools DO accept A FEW vouchers, but the more vouchers a school accepts, the more state scrutiny they expose themselves to

I would not accept vouchers if I were on a board for one of these schools.

Kids go there for a better education, not the same stupid shite.

Pump the brakes. You’re connecting dots that aren’t there.

maybe eventually. Voucher schools have notoriously little oversight.

That is such an interesting finding. What is the explanation ... other than study funding, of course?

I believe the study just sought to determine if voucher schools were improving test scores, not the factors that could contribute to that.

We’re left to draw our own conclusions but private schools have almost no oversight.

when’s the last time you used the fire department? Called the police? Do you hope to get refunds for those services as well?

I think most people feel fire service is adequate so no, police? You may be onto something.

Neighborhoods could hire private security.

Wrong.

Anti voucher propaganda comes straight from the unions.

How are they doing in their assigned public schools?

it’s not like disability is lucrative. SSI pays what? Like $850/month?
What else do they get on top of that? Healthcare insurance for $10 per month, HUD Section 8, SNAP, LaCHIP, and on. There are approximately $67,000 plus in benefits available to the poor.

Ok… what about the numerous studies evaluating the effects of school vouchers that found vouchers cost more and lead to worse student outcomes?

Medicaid but then you have to find a provider who accepts it.

years long waiting lists that aren’t even accepting new additions. Obtaining section 8 housing is not as easy as people think. Not to mention many of the housing options are worse than slums.

Probably paid for by unions.

Why do you want kids laboring in shitty schools to have no choice?

Same as every vociferous opponent of vouchers. She’s in a union. In this case, an involved union - the teacher’s union.
