what about the numerous studies evaluating the effects of school vouchers that found vouchers cost more and lead to worse student outcomes?
Have any studies evaluated behavior differences in public schools and non-public?

Exactly.
Teachers unions are vehemently against education reform. Theyre content to let it fail, and blame everyone else but their own system.

Think if we gave them 10 jillion dollars, though. That would surely fix it.

And another thing, when you point out the abysmal success rates of public schools, the teachers invariably kvetch, “We can’t change students from families that don’t value education.”
Ok. Then quit your job. Find something of value to do. If you can’t impact anyone but the kids from great families, then anyone can do your job. Including YouTube.

They always claim its money.
Its never about money. We overpay for what we get. Reform it or let it die. As little as Utah spends, they perform WAY better than many states that spend more.

Me? I’ve never been member of a union, but I’m pro-union.
Stop trying to make this personal.

Our education system is designed to fail at its most basic level. We’ve been teaching kids to “read” for decades with a system that is proven to not work.

The Marxists want an uneducated populace. They’re easier to get to revolt.

Close a few schools, make up the difference.

Do you really not know?
We transitioned my youngest daughter to private school in 2nd grade. After her first week, I asked her how she liked her new school. She said, “It’s nice. No one throws their book or throws chairs. We line up when the teacher says to line up.”
She’s never darkened the door of a public school since.

And you think they perform better because they spend less?
Recent data calculated on a state level revealed that Utah has the second lowest poverty rate nationally at 8.6% and the lowest in the nation for children at 8.1%, according to data gathered in the 2021 American Community Survey.
Child poverty in Louisiana remained stubbornly high at 26.7% in 2021, making it the second-highest child poverty rate in the nation.
It’s not the increases poverty in Louisiana that leads to worse education outcomes. It’s because we spend too much. Right?

I still fail to see what your daughter’s experience has to do with school vouchers. Do you believe the kids who throw books are not eligible for vouchers?

Lol. Eliminate 100 middle level administrators. Or 1.4 administrators per district. Or 0.08 per school.

No, money has little to do with education. Spending 20k per student per year is fricking pathetic.
We over spend way too much for what we get. Utah is proof that we overspend by a hell of a lot.

so you already know the for-profit education organizations are to blame for this.

Think of Mazlo’s hierarchy. It might dawn on you. It likely won’t.
