seems to me that this is about the ability to throttle content and not about Title II. if it were about Title II ISPs would have been vocal in saying "as always, we will adhere to net neutrality principles but this burdensome regulation hurts our customers"..

but that's not what happened

it'll be tied up in courts for a while.. and the rollback hasn't happened yet. whether the repeal holds up or not.. hopefully it doesn't affect your life ever

The SCOTUS is going to have to decide on everything you guys #resist to over the next 7 years?

you don't think there is an element of free speech involved? verizon does. i'm not sure if it will go to the USSC or not.. probably not.. but that's obviously not the only court in the land.

plus, multiple states have already sued/appealed the repeal

They have to play rent a pole with the utility company.

Doesn't make it any less of a good deal.. especially with these tax cuts effectively cancelling most of that out

I'll just set aside a few dollars to off-set the additional 'income' it will look like i earned

I think your missing it. He said internet is not essential to life. I think it is. The fact that he himself is not willing to live without internet strengthens that opinion.

Good fricking God.

Are we going to do this thread AGAIN?

Can we just fast forward to 18-24 months from now when I get to bump this bull shite and say "I told you so"?

It is a good deal no doubt. However you said you had "significant" loans. So I'm going to guess 200k. When thatbis forgiven you will have 200k imputed income due the following April. If your effective rate is 25 percent...you owe 50k.

On income based repayment you pay 10 percent of disposable income So even if you make 200....you pay less than 20k a year. It is a good deal. But by no means something to brag about. You will owe 50k. Enjoy.

Under PSLF (assuming that is the program being referenced), there is no 1099-MISC (or equivalent) issued.

That's only for the 25-year, anybody off the street can apply for. I guess they could change it, but that's the way it is now for folks getting the earliest forgiveness under the program (this quarter, I believe, is the earliest eligibility period).

first post reveals how much of a dumb-arse you are ... electricity and gas aren't necessary for life, either ... i'm assuming someone in these 18 pages pointed that out ...
