Leftists ramp up calls for liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, 82, to retire after he claimed court packing would 'erode trust' in the judicial system

-President Joe Biden established a presidential commission to examine expanding the Supreme Court on Friday

-36 member commission will study issue for 180 days and issue an analysis but not make specific recommendations

-Move would wipe out the current 6-3 conservative majority on the bench formed under Trump

-Liberal Justice Stephen Breyer has expressed opposition to the move saying it would give people the impression the court was too political

-Left-wing groups and personalities are now calling for Breyer to retire

I can’t imagine any way he doesn’t retire early enough to be replaced before the midterms

Doubt he wants to be another RBG

I wonder if they threw away their Saint RBG votive candles?

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in an interview Tuesday that she does not favor proposals put forth by some Democratic presidential candidates who have advocated changing the number of Supreme Court justices if the Democrats win the presidency.

Ginsburg, who got herself in trouble criticizing candidate Donald Trump in 2016, this time was critical not of any particular Democratic contender, but of their proposals to offset President Trump's two conservative appointments to the court.

How many of those “conservatives” have already been compromised and co-opted?

Yeah, I thought so.

A number of liberals are calling on Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to step down after he slammed a proposal to pack the court.

President Joe Bide announced Friday that he was establishing a 36 member commission to look into adding more justice to the nine-member Court in a bid to dismantled its current 6-3 conservative majority.

But Breyer, who is one of the three liberals on the Court, opposed the idea in a speech given at Harvard Law School earlier this week, saying: 'It is wrong to think of the court as just another political institution and it is doubly wrong to think of its members as junior league politicians,' he added.

Breyer claimed that 'structural change' to the Court 'motivated by the perception of political influence' may 'erode trust' in the judicial system.

The Justice, who turns 83 this year, has served on the Court since 1994 - and his comments have angered some radical liberals who say it is time for him to retire.

The progressive organization Demand Justice posted to Twitter on Friday: 'We can't afford to risk Democrats losing control of the Senate before President Biden can follow through on his promise to nominate the first Black woman Supreme Court justice. It's time for Justice Breyer to announce his retirement.'

That’s not what this is about. They want him to retire while they have the Senate and the President.

Yeah, the only way nutbag Leftists can get and keep power is by cheating or by changing the rules, IE packing the court.

I got bad news for you, buddy. The days of the left having to cheat are coming to an end. Every three people who cross our southern border gives them a one vote advantage. We saw this coming. In the 1980’s but everyone was to complacent to do anything about it.

Texas will be a blue state in about 10 years. In 20 years Republicans will never win another statewide race. Just a matter of time for Florida, too.

But if the left's cheating game is as strong as it appeared in 2020, why would they even bother with the headache of the quagmire at the border? I believe the answer to that is they predict that their cheating game is steadily slipping away for a litany of reasons, thus the existence of the immigrant voter game. Which tells me if the right would get its act together in '22 and '24......the Democrats can be defeated straight up.

This is acutely obvious but they also are trying to bully him out in the court of what they think rules, prog leftists opinion.

It may back fire on them. Then will they blackmail their own?

I would point to how they cheated. It wasn’t just the late night ballot dumps. It was the absentee ballots. The remote ballot drop off points. The indefinitely confined rule.

It was a fairly complicated scheme. Where they attacked the problem from several directions, to ensure success.

I assume it’s the same with the illegals. Sure they can and will cheat on Election Day. But they’ll also try and flood the country with as many illegals as possible, just to make victory a sure thing.

Yeah, totally agree with you on the level of complication of their scheme. It was compartmentalized. In fact, it was complicated enough that I truly believe they somehow got very lucky. But they sure haven't earned any good luck.....it was probably more of dumb luck.

Given that the immigrant voter scheme can't pay dividends until likely sometime after 2022 and maybe even 2024, and also the freshness of the fraudulent schemes of 2020 (and the glut of extra attention to the subject in at least '22) I do believe that the right has the capability to defeat the Dems and gain legislative majorities. Possibly extending into 2024 Presidential election. What it will take is an obsessive will to vote and get out the vote. The right should feel free to exercise principle and values during the primary processes, but come general elections......outlandish turnout and vote straight R down ballot.

Considering that 90% of the time you already know how each justice will vote it's already too political.
