Weiss leans left but she definitely isn't a progressive. She resigned from The New York Times because she got tired of dealing with all the wokism in the building.
Here's Ms. Weiss' resignation letter to the NYT. It's a thing of beauty.

The paper of record is, more and more, the record of those living in a distant galaxy, one whose concerns are profoundly removed from the lives of most people. This is a galaxy in which, to choose just a few recent examples, the Soviet space program is lauded for its “diversity”; the doxxing of teenagers in the name of justice is condoned; and the worst caste systems in human history includes the United States alongside Nazi Germany.
Even now, I am confident that most people at The Times do not hold these views. Yet they are cowed by those who do. Why? Perhaps because they believe the ultimate goal is righteous. Perhaps because they believe that they will be granted protection if they nod along as the coin of our realm—language—is degraded in service to an ever-shifting laundry list of right causes. Perhaps because there are millions of unemployed people in this country and they feel lucky to have a job in a contracting industry.
The same goes for universities. Centrists and conservatives are in a hostile work environment and are afraid to open their mouths for fear of reprisals, even at LSU.

The point she made in there that is getting the least attention but is the most dead on is that "this will be remembered by the younger generation as a massive moral crime".
Make no mistake. If there was EVER any chance of my teenagers become Democrats, this shite has killed it. They're starting to make me seem left wing. LOL

There are three types of people in the country today.
1. Those on our side (conservative/libertarian)
2. Those on their side (leftists/progressives)
3. Those who either don't have a side or can't figure out which side they are on now. (moderates and old school liberals who aren't real crazy about either Republicans or progressives)
We have a chance to pull large numbers of #3 to the #1 side thereby further weakening the #2 side but if we tell these people to go frick themselves when they finally start connecting the dots they are going to jump right back to the #2 side. You don't get people to join the anti-authoratarion side of the fence by getting all authoratarion with them while they are climbing over the fence.

Like less than 3% of the reported deaths are actually due to covid.
Rapid tests have 25-40% false negative results.
PCR tests cant distinguish between the cold, the flu, or Covid.

These idiots have spent the last 2 years scaring the shite out of the democrat voting base and even gullible Republicans to where they believe COVID = black plague and instant death if you get it.
After decades of zombie movies and the walking dead, many of these clowns just wanted to live their own apocalypse.
They were primed for it.
