If you watch the video and listen for the mace, the guy is shot right after you hear it (as in spray sound and bang). From experience, my opinion is that the guy had the handgun out and in his hand already before the mace spray occurred. He simply did not have enough time to draw the weapon after being sprayed and shoot given the time in the video.
Having said all of that, in Louisiana, you are not justified in shooting someone unless you can prove you thought you were going to sustain significant injuries or your life is in jeopardy. I don't know Colorado's laws, but reasonable force can meet force against you in Louisiana. I don't think using a gun against someone with mace would be justified even if they clearly sprayed you before you had the gun in your hand. You would have to be able to prove that you had a reasonable reason to shoot the guy based on other information (prior knowledge of the individual, a secondary weapon, physicality differences, etc).

I think everyone is laying low until after Trump wins the election. Right now the left looting ,burning, and killing innocent people is backfiring. Trump poll numbers go up after every event blm,and antifia pull. They will pay a big price in the end.

I definitely am for the right to defend yourself, but I don't think responding to being mased by shooting someone falls under that umbrella.

Well they did say "dont mace me, frick around and find out" before he maced them. I agree that in a court of law its probably not justifiable self defense. Still if the guy hadnt maced him he would probably be alive.

So to me this is were this stuff gets really murky to me. Depending on who started what first the aggressor can be either one. For example if I was walking in a grocery store parking lot and a guy runs up and maced me and I pull my firearm and shoot him he was the aggressor, assaulted me and I responded in fear for my life. If we are protesting and bitching/jawing at each other for a while and and I decide to mace his arse I would assume I was the aggressor.
