I'd suspect we would have the bodies of thousands of dead starved children in the streets, right?
All over the place.

The objective should be to have less people reliant on the government but for democrats, it’s the opposite
They want and need dependence.

It's simple logic. If poor people have to get jobs then they will start paying income tax. When they look at their taxes they become Republican voters.

One in five children in America live in food insecure homes....

Know where that number comes from? Dept of Agriculture who administers SNAP. They did a survey with SNAP recipients. So you send a survey to people getting SNAP and ask them if they have enough or should we cut it?

Does your child miss meals? My wife didnt make sammichs yesterday....I guess Im food insecure.

Am I wrong in thinking a 22% drop in SNAP enrollment in a state is a good thing?

It just shows you're not a democrat.

However, some Republican was dumb enough to say this:
quote:

And Rep. Dusty Johnson, a South Dakota Republican, said the bill would focus resources on the “neediest” Americans. “If you are a pregnant woman, your benefits are unaffected. If you have young children at home, your benefits are unaffected by this bill

Having young children at home should not be carte blanche for committing SNAP fraud.

Pelosi always said welfare stimulated the economy.

She probably benefited from it somehow...remember all the dead people and foreigners that didn't live in the US receiving social security?
