How about moral leanings?
WHAT PART OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ARE DYING AND HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF OTHERS ARE IN DANGER DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND????? WHAT PART OF THIS DO YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE???? WHY DO YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE THIS MORAL QUESTION TIME AND TIME AGAIN????
Yes, during wars the US Government has absolutely nationalized entire industries because the powers that be knew damn well not only was the priority to make sure that an overly rich a-hole could be the deciding factor in who lives and who dies and that was more important than sheer production, but also the yes, if you put the right people in charge production numbers and quality can go up, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLE ARE WILLIGN TO SACRIFICE TO WIN A WAR AND SURVIVE.
Industries and Companies the US Government has Nationalized in the Past
Don't you dare stand there and pretend to include morals when you use every opportunity to defend and cover for a mass murdering, power obsessed psychotic dictator who is happy to slaughter entire countries in the name of historical lies, false facts, and his own sickening legacy. Don't you dare pretend that others are weak you are willing rewrite the narrative for a man that willing to slaughter you for the same reason.
Elon has shown us who he is on multiple occasions who he is and he is absolutely unqualified to run this equipment. His ability to take power does not qualify him to be the judge, jury, and executioner for the entirety of Westen Civilization, something he has open contempt for and I'm starting to believe you have it as well. And since he had access to hundreds of bilioins of dollars and was able to only give us the Cybertruck I doubt seriously his ability to develop anything, only to argue people to death until he gets what he wants.
If you think we can't develop another Starlink now just try it under another government, like Russia's, that you continue to defend until the last. See how that will work out for everyone.

The speed limits on Starlink and Starshield are still there. The speed has not been restored. And the delivery of interceptors to protect us against Russian ballistic missiles is still delayed. We’re waiting for interceptors that were already agreed on. But they are still not coming. This is a real problem, because the Russians attack us almost every single day.
All of this is happening while we continue our quite successful operations on the front. We keep defending positions. Things have become harder – partly because of the Starlink and Starshield policies and speed limits. But our frontline is still holding and I am proud of how strong our people are.
From an address at the Hudson Institute.

What Musk is doing has less legal ground in terms of murder than not giving someone CPR while they are having a heart attack, which is also not murder. Or even manslaughter, for that matter.
Not when you are doing it like he is, where he turns it on and off without telling anyone after getting the Ukrainians reliant on it like he has.
If at the beginning of the war Musk had stated 'we are staying out of this, we don't want to be associated with the killing and goings on of a major war' then he would have a leg to stand on. But not when he's had not only four years of involvement in this war and clearly has picked a side. Musk has even said, "Zelinksy needs to go,' further proving this point.
Musk is dangling his system in the face of the Ukrainians in an attempt to vie for more power, end of story. It's not a case of standing by not providing help, it's full-blown manipulation at this point, and one that has picked the wrong side.
It's worse than murder, it's genocide.

Doesnt the slow down impact ukraine's ability to target their drones and the killing of innocent Russians thousands of miles from the battlefront?
Why doesnt anyone discuss this?
If he wants the service back to speed perhaps he should knock off hitting refineries.
Nah he would rather do the bidding of his european overlords and let his own people die and blame it on the US.

So now you are advocating that a dictator in another country should have the rights to seize the assets of an American company so he can continue to kill innocent Russians a 1000 miles from the front??????

I don’t believe it impacts Ukraine’s offensive capabilities, just defense.

Err, we are.

And let Russia off the hook? And gain no concessions from Russia?

I think he’s doing his best to defend his country and to throw the invaders out.
Let me ask you a question, do you ever get upset that Russia is lobbing hundreds of missiles and flying thousands of drones to take over Ukraine and thousands are dying?
Oh I know all the excuses for the war, and none of them hold water. Russia is just a ruthless aggressor.

Look at the supposed conservative Leopold crying for multiple paragraphs because I said taking companies from people who built them is immoral, oh boo freaking hoo.
You have a child-like worldview and mentality. Only one thing can be true at a time I guess, if I think nationalizing companies is immoral then it's impossible to have to moral bandwidth to also acknowledge the Russian genocide.
And then you have the prototypical "you're defending Russia at every turn" line. Grow the frick up.

The man is asking some good questions.
Hopefully, we own and control our own security systems, and we aren’t dependent on outside entities.
I’d be surprised if we were.

Unless you are arguing that we should get involved any time there is a conflict in the world, this is a non-argument.
You're just using it in this case as a cudgel to deflect from valid conversations on what we should, and according to many here what we are apparently obligated to, provide Ukraine.
If your position is that we should ALWAYS get involved in situations where one country is invaded by another, by all means continue your emotional appeals. But otherwise all you're doing is trying to snuff out any opinions you don't agree with and it's not at all consistent with some kind of moral code or argument you possess.

Solid questions raised there.
It really doesn't make sense to me why it would have come from anywhere except the White House.
I have stated numerous times that I believe in the free market. If Musk did want to do this, for whatever reason, he is certainly entitled to. But there are two sides to that coin, we are entitled to not buy his products or use his services with taxpayer dollars anymore if we don't like his operating policies.

No it’s nothing like that. I just questioned why it upsets him that Russians die because of Ukrainian counterattacks, but not when Russia rains down bombs on civilians.
Sure I wish we could stop it, but we can’t.

Total BS and you aren’t the self appointed board operator. I asked some legitimate questions. Why are you

More of your BS Sir Galahad. Keep making up your fairy tales.

And my point was how do you know Russia killing civilians doesn't upset him?
I can't speak for him because it seems he has an incorrect view that Starlink is used offensively (and it's not supposed to be, if it is then we might know why it's being throttled), but I operate under the assumption that anyone worth talking to already agrees that Russia killing civilians is bad, and it's not worth the time to virtue signaling about

Because he frequently comments defending Russia; while attacking Ukraine.
Do you think he gets upset when Russia blows up a super market or school?

Makes sense except that I believe a guy who pops in and out of here should be called out because he supports the carnage Russia is bringing to Ukraine.
As for my opinion on us policy, I believe we should be leading world opposition to what Russia is doing. We should be using economic and diplomatic tactics to make it hard on Russia to continue fighting. We should give aid in the form of military weapons to a point. We should be encouraging other nations to do the same with a strong emphasis on Europe.

So do you equate what Musk (or whoever made the call) is doing to murder?
Let's try to keep in mind, this is SLOWING speeds, not stopping service.
Even if it weren't, I'm not sure those who are suggesting it's equivalent to murder are mentally capable of taking that viewpoint to its logical conclusion.

Smart move.
Why would Musk not want Starlink to work at faster speeds for a more effective defense?
