Hit the chicksans first.
Note at 0.07 and at 0.03 of the video, the same shore tank is hit. But it has been hit before as a large stream of liquid is pouring out of the tank. Clearly not flammable. So what could it be? A fire water tank? Caustic soda?

Kasparov: Trump has already done everything he could for Putin.
Cut aid to Ukraine, stopped giving weapons, even stopped selling them to Europeans, raised oil prices with the Iran war, quarreled with Europe, and practically buried NATO.

Trump must feel offended: I did everything, so why can’t Putin win? All the conditions were ready.
But Putin has not won and the war is moving in the wrong direction for Moscow. Russia has no serious breakthrough potential.

U.S. generals understand the new reality: Ukraine is now the most combat-capable army in Europe, and America has to learn from Ukraine.
Cooperation with Ukraine is necessary to prepare effectively for confrontation with China.

Negotiations with Putin mean selling part of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territory to buy time for calm preparation before Putin’s next aggression.
Nothing else is happening here. Russia’s whole system is aimed at continuing the war.

Europe is still not ready to say the magic formula: Russia must lose, Ukraine must win.
But the war cannot end while Putin is in power, because under Putin war has become the way the entire Russian state apparatus exists.

By telling Trump to remove Igor Sechin's son from the list of sanctioned Russians, Putin is sending a message to his supporters in Russia and to the West: "I own Trump."

According to the Ministry of Defence, they have hit approximately 1000 vehicles and fuel tanks over the last 2 days.

The money is actually flowing the other way from Ukraine to the US. Theyre buying a ton of our mid grade weapons using European money.
And we are buying cheap innovative autonomous battlefield weapons from Ukraine that are far beyond what even our defense contractors can offer. Cheaper and better..
That's why the Trump Administration called Ukraine the Silicon Valley of warfare.

It seems like we could sell a license to Ukraine to make Patriot missiles for themselves.

Zhelensky wrote Trump a letter this week suggesting precisely that. Ballistic missiles. Interceptors. Anti Drone Drones. EW systems.
All those clowns who have been asking for the past 5 years: What do we get for helping Ukraine?
Well. This is what we get. Better, cheaper, more innovative war fighting tools.
Exactly the things we will need to thwart China in Asia and Russia in Europe. While also allowing us unchallenged opportunities to regain control over the entire Americas region (Cuba and Venezuela to start).
And all at 30c on the dollar for what Boeing could deliver these systems for. A decade late and 300% over budget.
So. Yeah. Thanks Zhelensky. This is turning out to be a peer level partnership after all.

At some point in this thread we talked about if we saw the last of human operated tanks on the battlefield. I think yes. There is probably some roll still for tanks, but the US spending money for more tanks seems pretty wasteful.
But the Ukraine war might be the end to a whole host of weapons systems. We might be there yet, but the age of the aircraft carrier as the ultimate military unit is likely over soon.

And somewhat unrelated but I can’t help but think of how impossible it is for nation the size of Russia to defend its infrastructure in the age of drone warfare. Weirdly, being more compact may have some advantage.
And it made me wonder . . . does the US have any real defense to drones? In the hypothetical world where Cuba really does have a few thousand drones and launches them at Miami as a final f-you, would they be intercepted or largely find a target?

I think it's more like evolving systems than the end of systems.
There's no reason to build heavy MBTs that are designed to take a round to the face in a duel with another MBT. That era is over. Because a $2500 drone with a $250 shaped charge can take it out.
But the new modern "tank" will be a light, thin skinned unmanned hull bristling with EW systems, anti drone systems, 25mm chain guns, 40mm grenade launchers, etc.
We have the basic platform. We just need to adapt the technology that Ukraine is developing to the new system. Which will have to be constantly upgraded in a modular fashion

In Ukraine, likely a lot less than that for most of them.

In WWII, one of the things that greatly limited the Kamikaze attacks was the super secret proximity fused anti-aircraft shells. Amazingly they had a simple radar that triggered the shells to explode when close to an aircraft.
One thing that could work for a low cost anti-drone tech could be a similar to the WWII proximity shells, but where one 20 or 30mm shell would kill one drone.

Obviously there is a huge push for anti drone technology. The fins on a drone are 3D printed HDPE plastic. It's not like we need a 40mm AA round to destroy an aircraft or ballistic missile.
An optically tracked shotgun firing tungsten pellets is plenty to destroy a drone. Even low power lasers can fry the mother board and make them fall out of the sky.
Anti drone technology will be easy to mount on Bradley sized fighting vehicles with a suite of offensive and defensive weapons
