Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence releases footage showing fire control over Crimea–Donetsk land corridor

VALENTYNA ROMANENKO — 29 May, 11:55

Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has released footage showing operators from the Unmanned Systems units of its Active Operations Department blocking the Crimea–Donetsk land corridor and destroying Russian military equipment deep behind Russian lines.

Source: press service for Defence Intelligence of Ukraine

Details: According to Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, sections of the road connecting the temporarily occupied cities of Berdiansk, Melitopol and Dzhankoi are under the fire control of Ukrainian military intelligence drone operators.

The video shows Russian fuel tankers, lorries and a trailer engulfed in flames after being struck.

Background:

The 1st Corps of Ukraine's National Guard Azov has stated that it has taken control of all Russian logistics routes near occupied Donetsk and will now destroy any targets moving along those routes.

Volodymyr Saldo, the Russian-installed puppet governor of the occupied part of Kherson Oblast, has ordered restrictions on traffic along the so-called Novorossiya road, which runs along the Sea of Azov coast and has recently come under attack from Ukrainian drones.

Ukraine’s strategy these last 9 months or so has been a methodical dismantling of Russian operations behind the lines.

When it started I have to admit that I missed the long game. My concern was that Russia had a clear advantage in the trenches of the front line. I figured that the best use of limited drones and missiles was to strike the Russian troop positions. (That’s why I am not developing strategy for our military.)

Meanwhile, Ukraine was striking economic and military facilities hundreds of miles away from the front, seeming to launch in a different direction each night so that there was no obvious pattern of where the next drone would fly, while improving drone tech based upon battlefield research. The cumulative effect is that Russia may actually be on the ropes. It has been impressive.

That's ok, while they're waiting in line they can browse the 'Net on their cellphones. Oh... wait.

The truth is that at least 1 major turnaround, if not 2, per refinery would have been needed since 2020. There is lots of wear and tear in a refinery to process equipment even without any strikes. Spare parts would be expensive to begin with due sanctions. Most were expanded or modernized between 2001 and 2014 with Western (US) technology and US/European equipment

While Ukraine damaged refineries, logistics and military related manufacturing, Putin engaged in terrorism against civilians seemingly drawn from his old KGB handbook.

I suspect that one day the Russian Army will have had enough of fruitless suffering and death from the leadership of Putin's organized crime buddies.

Seems it came close to that with Prigozhin.

It appears that Putin had access to some of the battlefield maps posted here.

quote:

Key Takeaways
Russian President Vladimir Putin has likely developed a false perception of the Russian military’s successes in Ukraine based on heavily exaggerated maps from the Russian high military command. The Russian military command’s exaggerated claims about the Kupyansk area since late Summer 2025 show a larger pattern within the Russian military of misrepresenting the battlefield geometry at the highest levels.

The Russian military command’s exaggerations are likely leading Putin to believe his forces can achieve his battlefield goals in the near to medium term, despite the fact that Russia’s battlefield performance has steadily declined in 2026.

Russian forces are reinforcing air defenses in Moscow City in response to Ukraine’s growing long-range drone campaign against the Russian deep rear. Russia continues to struggle to defend against Ukraine’s mid-range strike campaign and is reportedly resorting to war crimes to protect Russian military vehicles in the rear.

Sweden pledged a total of 36 Gripen fighter aircraft to Ukraine in a large military support package on May 28. Zelensky stated that the Gripens will help Ukraine defend against Russian guided glide bombs.

Ukrainian forces recently advanced in northern in the Velykyi Burluk and Oleksandrivka directions. Russian forces recently advanced in Sumy Oblast.

Russian forces launched one Kinzhal aeroballistic missile and 147 long-range drones at Ukraine overnight.

BROWDER: Lavrov called Rubio and threatened U.S. interests in Ukraine. Russia supplied information to Iran to target U.S. interests in Middle East.

Truly astounding to watch how Trump administration dealing with Russia right now. That would have been red line under any other U.S. government, any political party, at any other time in history.

I’m old enough to remember that if Russia made any kind of threat against U.S. interests, the U.S. would respond with most blistering, dangerous threats against Russian interests, and nobody would do anything about it.

That's how Cold War and post-Cold War era functioned. Every American president, every Republican and every Democrat, took very strong line with Russia, and any nasty thing they did was met with most severe and aggressive reprimand.

The strikes were part of a larger raid that targeted 23 Russian military and infrastructure sites, including an Iskander missile launcher and two Tu-142 aircraft.

Further confirmation that Ukraine's southern Kherson region will likely be the first to be liberated by Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia's puppet "governor" there likens Ukraine's ongoing destruction of Russian logistics to "the blockade of Leningrad".

Approximately 150,000 Russian troops in Kherson are being cut off, with only the 900km route across Crimean bridge and up through Crimea as the last remaining lifeline.

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces take fire control of access routes to Debaltseve

video 30.05.2026 11:35

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have established fire control over key access routes to the Russian-occupied city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region and severed a major transport link connecting Debaltseve and Alchevsk.
The 20th Separate K-2 Unmanned Systems Brigade reported this on Facebook and released video footage of the operation, according to Ukrinform.

"We have taken control of the entrances to Debaltseve. K-2 strike drones have cut the Debaltseve-Alchevsk overpass," the brigade said in a statement accompanying the video.

Since it's Sunday and there's no Tiger baseball, here's an extensive study of the logistics of this war, a campaign that has developed over the last four years.
