I would not be surprised of these ships were protected by the Turkish navy. Turkey has been playing both sides of this conflict.
The
Turks own businesses in both Russia and Ukraine. Actual banks in Ankara were skipped over with money fleeing Russia as it went to Erdogan

Turkey sucks... beneficiaries of sitting in a very important geopolitical location so NATO has to ignore them violating a lot of its rules about government corruption, democracy, etc.

I cannot emphasize how badly Putin has utterly, totally, and completely f*cked his own country.
Yes, Ukraine is, too, but Ukraine already has a path forward after this war. They are looking to join the EU, possibly NATO, will have a key role as a buffer state between Europe and Russia and has a budding defense industry that is going to reap billions for them for a generation to come, or more. That, and there will be genuine sympathy for them that, on top of all that has been mentioned, is going to drive the Europeans to use the hundreds of billions of dollars of confiscated Russian assts to fund their rebuilding.
But Russia is going to be alone and despised, and their children will be the ones who are going to feel the West's wrath because of it.

Do I need to link you to the clip where the Marco Rubio said: "In the first 6 months of 2025 Russia suffered 100,000 killed in Ukraine. That's not injuries. That's dead."
Now extrapolate that out over 4 years and you have 800,000 dead and over 2 million wounded. Even if Rubio was off by 50% -- and he's not -- then the 1000 killed, wounded, captured per day is still on target.
So if you think that's dumb, take it up with the Trump Administration

I think the Chechens will turn on Putin as soon as they think he is weak enough for them to succeed.

Yeah none of that math adds up. I can respond better once you fix all that.
For starters 100,000 dead in 6 months comes out to 547 dead per day not 1,000. Let me know if you need any assistance

And round and round we go still talking casualty figures that are almost certainly very if not wildly inaccurate even if we do have accurate data on it, which I doubt.

Well he did say casualties so that would include wounded, sick, and POWs

Dude. If you don't understand the difference between dead and casualties in a war discussion, then I don't think I can help you.
But in short, usually 3x wounded to dead. Which would put the casualties at 2000 per day. Hence why I said even if Rubio is off by 50% then the 1000 per day still holds.
Let me know if you need me to make it even more simple for you.

From the sources I’ve seen and people I’ve talked to Russia is losing around 20-30 soldiers per day on average at the moment.

Okay. Can you post the sources? No doubt the Ukrainians are probably exaggerating, I'd be interested in a second opinion.

80% of the casualties are now inflicted with drones. And they all have cameras. Hundreds are being video verified every day. You're just....misinformed on this issue.
