Correct. That would be the 'trying' part of the post I mentioned earlier.

It's crazy to me that we're sitting here threatening sanctions against multiple countries for buying Russian oil because it helps fund this stupid war but here we have two allies - who are standing directly in the way of their own Russian invasion - buying oil from Putin and his cronies. Some people just can't get out of their own way.

While we're waiting yet another two weeks for TACO to do the right thing, let's get to the bottom of why he never will -

Belyakov wasn't some rank and file official. He graduated from the FSB Academy in 1998 and embedded himself in Russia's economic elite.
quote:
By 35, he was Deputy Minister. His real job, however, didn't change - he was FSB, placed to run influence operations from inside the government.
quote:
July 2015. Epstein writes to Belyakov: "There is a Russian girl from Moscow. Guzel Ganieva. She is attempting to blackmail a group of powerful businessmen in New York." Within 72 hours, Belyakov delivers a complete intelligence profile.
quote:
Belyakov's response contained professional intelligence dossier. He detailed Ganieva's earnings - $100K per summer. Her methods - what he called "hard stories" with clients. Her weakness: for example, that denying US entry would destroy her business.
quote:
But Epstein wasn't getting this for free: Russia had just annexed Crimea and the West imposed sanctions for it.
Putin's signature economic forum in Saint Petersburg was hemorrhaging Western guests and Belyakov needed someone with connections. Epstein, became clear, had some connections.
quote:
The financier claimed that he could facilitate meetings with the co-founder of LinkedIn Reid Hoffman, Microsoft's Nathan Myhrvold, billionaire Thomas Pritzker.

Epstein personally introduced former Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak to Belyakov.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Barak met with Epstein dozens of times at the American financier’s mansions in Florida and New York.
quote:
But this wasn't all. Epstein went further. He advised Russia on evading sanctions - proposing a "BRIC coin" cryptocurrency, new banking systems to move 500 billion outside Western oversight.
An FSB-trained Russian official helped the financier handle a blackmail threat in return for advice on circumventing sanctions.
quote:
@dossier_center found Belyakov writing official letters supporting US visas for Epstein's Russian assistant, Svetlana Pozhidaeva.
She was photographed at Epstein's properties while Prince Andrew visited; later, she ran "Women's Empowerment" conferences with Epstein's money.
quote:
The Dossier documented at least five meetings between Epstein and Belyakov. After one 2014 meeting, Belyakov thanked Epstein for a "nice gift." Epstein kept inviting the FSB officer to "relax" and "have fun."
quote:
These documents prove an FSB-trained official running Putin's forum had operational collaboration with a convicted pedophile.
They exchanged intelligence, contacts, and favors while Western elites attended forums known for honey traps.

This is interesting. The best marine drone tech in the world combined with the best sailors in the world.
Drones don't need sailors and I don't know anyone who thinks that Filipinos are the best sailors the world. They are CHEAP to pay sailors and competent enough, usually in the engine dept. They do love their roosters and cockfighting.

The Department of Defense is denying reports Secretary Pete Hegseth halted offensive cyber operations against Russia.
“TO BE CLEAR: @SecDef has neither canceled nor delayed any cyber operations directed against malicious Russian targets and there has been no stand-down order whatsoever from that priority,” the Pentagon’s rapid response team posted Tuesday on the social platform X.

No way they would just stand there in what is probably just sleeping bags and get smoked. Either fake or more signs of a Russian soldier’s trust in things that ultimately do not work.

Huh? I'm not sure I get you.
Orban would be thrilled to just link arms with Putin... if Ukraine and Moldova were under the Russia thumb he'd be happy to exit NATO and probably the EU and go full evil dictator, unhinged. Fico probably would to... but his citizinry isn't quite as brainwashed (and he has a bullet scar to prove it)...

Ukraine is moving to deepen defense ties with the Philippines, working on a memorandum that could lead to joint drone production.
It is interesting, and makes a LOT of sense. The Philippines has extremely cheap labor that is out of reach of Russian missiles and they would love more manufacturing jobs. The Philippines has also had their problems with the Chinese navy and would love to be able to frick them up. And then there is Taiwan, not far north of the Philippines. They really could use some of the drone production to defend the straits against China.

Let's all read the actual article now:
“I don’t know why he’s doing that,” Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.) said in an interview on Fox Business. “But the Russians are attacking us every single day. The Chinese are attacking us every single day. I don’t think you signal to the Russians that ‘Hey, we’re gonna unilaterally withdraw from this space.’”
“If they can keep attacking us — and they do every single day — they should be fearful of our capacity to inflict damage on them,” he continued. “So I really don’t understand where that’s coming from.”
The administration denies it, of course, but senators on all sides see it for what it is. (I won't bother with the Democrats pointing out the same thing)
So, yeah, it's a thing and they're lying about it. But, hey, why worry about getting attacked and even nuked by the Russians, right?
Right?

I see your logic - I do.
But I maintain that maybe it's not the best policy to try to bring a murderous, invading army of a crumbling nation up to your doorsteps when you have richer, more stable, less violent neighbors who you've gotten along with for generations now and can help you in a multitude of ways with your energy, debt, financial, and political problems.
But then again, I'm not a power-hungry dictator myself.

The link doesn't work. I'm genuinely curious as to what you posted, could you clue us in?
Thanks.

It's obvious that Orban is making bank with the Gazprom/Rosneft deals. It made zero sense to put all of this nation's eggs and security in one basket otherwise. Ukraine was careful not to blow things up as they cross Ukraine but in Russia where Russia still owns the commodities

So, I post the Pentagon saying there were no orders to stand down against Russian hackers and you quote 2 politicians saying they don’t like the orders to stand down?
And you believe the politicians? Okay, sure…
Since this happened in March and nothing about it since then. FAKE NEWS.

Well, I can't post the soldiers I worked with for decades saying that this is happening, so I am going to go to with the fact that anybody who is not either
A) In the administration directly, or
B) In the Pentagon, which means they cannot legally disagree publicly with the president no matter how stupid and dangerous the policy is
all saying it's happening. So, yeah.....
it's happening.
But again, why on earth would we worry about a murderous dictator who has 6k nuclear weapons, most of them pointed at us, nuking us, right? I mean, Putin and Trump are buddies, right?
