Trump has had a lot of success at ending wars, but it looks to me that the only way Putin's invasion of Ukraine is ended is when the Russian troops start fragging their own officers or when Ukraine achieves real air superiority.

Nope, but they have imposed an export ban on gasoline and diesel. The refinery disruptions are a factor in the admitted shortage and rising domestic prices. It will be interesting to see if these recent strikes result in an extension of the export ban.

I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that now that the fighting season is almost over, and Ukraine is hitting all these oil installstions, and the Russian economy seems to be sliding Putin wants to talk again and we are hearing some compromises from his side.

That has nothing to do with Ukraine’s inability to retake what Russia has already taken. Russia’s crappy ability to take land doesn’t mean Ukraine can take it back.
That all depends whether or not Russia's troops have had a enough and walk home. They actually did this to end WWI

How would anyone know this information? Has Russia published some documents on the effectiveness of Ukraine's strikes?
Has that stopped them from speculating that's it's crippling Russia? Obviously not. So if not, they must have some kind of information on how effective the strikes are, not just that they hit something...
Right ?

You'll have to excuse grandpa, he goes into 1+1=3 mode on occasion

They did that cause Russia was essentially in a civil war at that time. But yea I guess you are correct if the whole Russia military throws down its weapons and chooses instead to go home and face life in prison or execution then Ukraine will retake all its land. If that doesn't happen though Ukraine has no capability to get that land back.

It doesn't take a student of rocket science to deduce that attacks on oil refineries aren't generating increases in production capacity.
I think it's a fairly safe assumption that these attacks on their refineries are negatively impacting Russia; the question, which no one on this board knows the answer to, is how much?
Is it crippling? I have no idea, but I know it isn't helping.
ETA: There is a tipping point where it becomes crippling...and we're closer to that point today than we were a year ago, but how close? Who knows.

Select the target and the drone tracks it and attacks autonomously.

Grok:
quote:
The Baltic states—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—became part of the USSR in 1940. Following the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939, the USSR occupied the Baltic states in June 1940 after issuing ultimatums to their governments. Soviet forces moved in, staged elections to install pro-Soviet regimes, and formally annexed the three countries as Soviet Socialist Republics by August 1940. This began a period of Soviet control that lasted, with a brief interruption during Nazi occupation (1941–1944), until the Baltic states regained independence in 1991.
They are de-Russifying from top to bottom now.

That's not really the argument being made here though.

The Ukrainian JB Cope is pushing out his propaganda again.
Nothing new.

What post are you referring to in your response? I didn't look back too far, but in the few pages I looked, I didn't see anyone claiming this is crippling Russia. Which post is that?

Not independently verified, but according to this video a big Nork assault was butchered in an ambush.

'This is terror' — Russian bombs hit bus station, university in Zaporizhzhia, injuring at least 20
August 10, 2025 7:54 pm
Russia attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs on Aug. 10, hitting civilian infrastructure and injuring 20 civilians.
At least 20 people were injured in the strike, regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said in his latest update on the casualties at 10:38 p.m. local time. The victims range in age from 24 to 77 and are all receiving medical attention.
Emergency workers continue to search for more victims who may be trapped under the rubble.
Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia the evening of Aug. 10 with two KAB aerial bombs, the city administration reported. The first bomb struck a busy city bus station. The second hit a university medical clinic.
"This is terror," Fedorov wrote on Telegram. "And we must call things by their proper names.
The Russians terrorize our people and all of Ukraine every day."

The problem with your thesis is that the proponents of Russia’s economic decline are posting articles backing up their claims. They aren’t opinions.
The question is whether or not the articles posted are correct. They may not be.

The same thing could have been said regarding the Russian JB's posts and he was banned. He was called a liar, A bot, A russian, etc.
They came with wailing and gnashing of teeth for days and not trying to excuse them as in contrast to the Ukrainian JB's posts because they fit an agenda.
I guess that makes the Ukrainian JB a liar and a bot also.

Did JB put you on retainer. All you ever do is whine about his status.

And all you hypocrites do is defend Cope for doing the same exact thing. Because he pushes an agenda that you agree with. Doesn't matter if his posts are untrue or propaganda.
Truth hurts doesn't it?
