LINK colbert

I hate to give this idiot any clicks. but this what they are now passing off as late night comedy. Sadly Seth Meyers, Noah, Kimmel, etc. are even worse. There was actually a time whem Colbert was kind of funny on comedy central. What a loser!

I just posted this on the OT where some poster who is either clueless or old say that podcasts suck, are watered down, and television/radio is a better medium:

This might be the worst and most wrong sentence I’ve ever heard. You know what’s watered down: a television show that has 3 panelists who have 5 fricking minutes to each get their zinger out and bury their opponent. You’re not learning really anything from these shows since the narrative is set from the start and nonorganic.

Or how about those late night shows where Seth Meyers goes “Hey Gwyneth heard you were in Italy? Tell me about that!” No Seth, you didn’t hear about that, you were told to ask her that and all of this has already been rehearsed out. You’re not there for the conversation, because there’s no difference between when the cameras are rolling on your show and you start playing the commercials because you are both glorified commercials.

Jimmy Fallon thinks to himself “what do these mouth breathers like to do on a daily basis? I know eat at the shitty Olive Garden, so how about they give us $250K to shoot a scene at their shitty restaurants, we bring in some low ball hot actresses to serve us, and let’s bring on Post Malone to eat with me there. These mouth breathers will eat it up, and after that I’ll play drinking games with Jennifer Lawrence and Tyler Perry”.

And let’s move onto radio... whose left? Howard Stern is a shell of himself. Opie and Anthony are gone. Rush Limbaugh is dead. Trust me if someone knows that he’s talented enough to be listened to from Honolulu to London, they’re skipping radio at this point. Why stay in fricking Toledo or some other city when my message could reach a billion people on a podcast? Plus they don’t have to worry about commercials fricking up the conversation and just cut it together later or do the commercials up front. If you’re under 50, this is a 10/10 bad take.

The last decent late night host was Leno. Craig Ferguson almost got it going, but the rest of them are braindead hacks.

As a religious person, you can: it’s church for them. Church isn’t funny, but it gives you spiritual fulfillment. This is it for them. SNL is their fricking Vatican. They wouldn’t dare hire someone who is actually funny, since if they did Shane Gillis, Ryan Long, and Tim Dillon would have certainly been cast members if they were their current age in the 90s, but Shane Gillis said something funny once (and the target Andrew Yang was not offended by it and encouraged SNL to hire him) so they fired him Day 1 because he doesn’t think an 8 year old should be chemically castrated.

Leno was fricking backstabbing weasel. Never understood why people thought he was funny (to be fair I never found Letterman that funny either). Ferguson was hilarious and outside of Conan was the last true greats of them.

EDIT: also Jon Stewart who was actually funny, but man did he open Pandora’s Box.

Imagine thinking of yourself as both a comedian and a purveyor of news and somehow still justify the censorship of work written by a children's author.

His Biden worship was the part that got me about "I could kiss that man"

Then you have this Dr. Seuss deal, which to any comedian worth their salt should be a soft ball teed up, knock it out of the park. But what does he do with it? Finds away to make it a joke on DTJjr and Fox News.

Seth Meyers dedicated an entire show to the Mueller Report.

Can you imagine that happening on Late Night with Conan or Letterman? Hell, Carson had command of almost every TV in the country every night and people never knew his political leanings. Leno gets a bunch of grief for the what went down with Conan but at least Leno knew his job was to make everyone laugh.

Simply amazing how corporate, political, and unfunny late night comedy has become.

I will not watch Colbert. I never watched The Late Show, so when he took over, I just never watched it. After the "cock holster" incident, I intentionally never watched him. Never have. Never will.

I’ve said this before but America hasn’t been the same since Johnny Carson retired. Everyone went to bed the same way for 30 years then suddenly it stopped. Then you had Jay vs Dave then Jon Stewart and entertainment options became more and more siloed. OJ happened. Then the Clinton impeachment. Slowly but surely Americans started to become more fractured. You didn’t have that common shared experience at the end of everyday to bring you back to center.

Colbert needs his azz kicked!

Seth Meyers is PATHETIC! He really wanted Hilliary to win for his mother's sake!

Kimmel couldn't beat his way out a wet paper bag.

Fallon has to follow his overlords wishes or those ratings drop

To his credit he actually said the Seuss thing was ridiculous and if they don’t get a handLe on cancel culture Trump will win again. Still not a fan but at least he had reasonable take In this one instance.
