Is No One concerned or outraged that DNA samples were requested and obtained over a non violent crime that, even if true, is basically a crappy prank?
I mean, of course it was a hoax... but still, having three or more LEO departments involved in a friggin rope display is beyond ridiculous.

Exactly! Although I imagine any non melanated people in that office were afraid to NOT submit DNA as refusing would either make them likely to be blamed for the rope OR be seen as not being a good 'ally' in helping to solve such a horrid crime.
