… regarding generational divides, and emphasis on the negative rather than positive aspects of the country in general. The emphasis is on how grass is greener in the other guy's yard, without appreciating how nice our own yard actually is. "Comparison is the thief of joy."

Someone is educating him and it needed to happen. Sounds like he’s listening.

Lane was great all day yesterday

they had him on TV all day after he spoke at the podium

Lane is going to be very successful at LSU

people who can't see it don't want to see it

he should stfu. He drove about 90% of it himself.

We just want you to coach LSU baw. That's all. Focus on that.

That's what made Saban so great. 100% focus.

I think he'll do great. Alabama was stupid to pass him over.

I do as well.

But that really is not what this topic was meant to be about.
I thought his observations about social media were on point and prescient.

I like the guy and am excited to have him. He's sharp and very relatable, something huge that was missing with Kelly.

Anyone could say what he said there. Everyone knows all this. The question though is why can't Lane stay tf off it and focus on his job?

Ahhh, were that only true we'd be in a much different place.

You can know something and still not truly take it in. People are retards on certain things esp. social media. I hope Lane can curb his sm addiction.

Kiffin left Ole Miss because he sees the grass being greener in Baton Rouge.

When was the last time he tweeted? In case you haven't heard he has deleted all social media apps from his phone.

Maybe that was his way of saying he's going to pull back on his social media use?

Another aspect of this is that all of his players are on it (just like almost everyone their age) and it consumes an inordinate amount of their time, thus it has some influence on them. Knowing what's influencing them and the avenue it takes to the players is something a responsible coach at that level will know and keep up with (even if it's by having subordinates doing it and keeping him updated on it).

Great post from a great poster. This is so true in every walk of life. It ruins relationships and economic systems alike.

FWIW, He said the last time he was on social media was May 11. I time marked the clip about a minute after he said that. So I guess he's been off about 2 1/2 months.
