You cool with this? 10 years for making funny memes about Hilary. Is this what preserving "muh democracy" looks like? Defend your sacred rule of law and norms.

Insane and honestly terrifying. A blatant attack on his first amendment rights. Everyone should be demanding their congressmen get out there and work on it for Douglass and also for the rest of us to make sure it never happens again and the government learns to leave people alone as far as what they say.

1st - there was NO evidence that any voter was actually harmed.

2nd - if you were dumb enough to fall for that, you shouldn't be voting anyway.

Has anyone in the GOPe come out and discussed this? I can't recall.

Also, what is wrong with juries these days? How is it possible to think this stuff is not protected by the first amendment?

Has he been sentenced?

*Being convicted is ridiculous in this case. I'm sure it took a compliant, leftist jury.

No, not yet. But it's obviously a complete kangaroo court the prosecution put together. I am not sure why we don't seem to get actual juries of our peers. Why is this case in Brooklyn?

It seems like Hillary spent over a million dollars to invent tha Russia gate fiasco. I guarantee that more people switched off Trump thinking he could be a Russian plant than were misguided by a meme.

I still want them to recover the thirty two million wasted on Muller’s fishing expedition.

I confess I know nothing about the case you refer to. if you can summarize the acts and issues more people than only your in crowd can participate.
you call me out, have something to see.

I'm into basketball and the trump cases. I read
various Buddhist teachers and the Kabbalah commentary rabbi I learn from.
so.. I dunno.
and I have to say, replying to some gotcha setup isn't my idea of productive use of my time. the thing is, a lot, maybe even most of the stuff you complain about I think is off too.. but there's some b.s. the right wing is running that says all dems are satanic perverts. so usually I ignore the attempts to claim b.s. about me.

happy evening to you.

Juries are now made up of the same morons you have to deal with in public on a day to day basis.
Need I say more?

This is what should be feared if Trump’s case goes to trial in New York City.
He will be found guilty no matter the evidence.

If scotus doesn't overturn this I hope it's carpet bombed by trannies.

If he is convicted then the way to protest this is everyone should mimic his “offending tweet” next election. I’ll do it and post this on other forums I lurk.

Then if a 1000 or 10000 get on board we should recreate the tweet during the run up to the 24 election. I will do this

Douglass Mackey... a Florida man... made memes during the 2016 election cycle which mimicked Hillary's ads and told people to vote via text/phone/social media (a la "American Idol" or whatever) instead of going to stand in line at a polling place

Politico said a little less than 5,000 people tried to "vote" via text like the mock ads suggested

I'm not exactly sure what the actual charges he was convicted on are... but they were described as some kind of conspiracy to deprive individuals the right to vote charges... the case was tried in Brooklyn by the Southern District of New York

considering he was apparently posting under the name Ricky Vaughn... the name of the main (fictional) character from Major League... I'm not sure how anyone didn't know they were jokes/memes

sentencing is set for August
