Everyone thought he was a joke when he ran the first time, but he was running for an open seat against a RINO who had just lost the governor election. While he has continued to say occasional, but not too often, stupid stuff, his voting record is excellent if you're a conservative. Acadiana could do a lot worse than the Cajun John Wayne, and his voting record is FAR more conservative than that RINO Boustany who preceded him.

Yeah, I can't recall an idea he's had on his own, but he votes the way we want every time, so he's got that going for him.

What's really hilarious to me is that he's on the outer space committee. That's right, Higgins: The Cajun John Wayne, is one of the men in charge of screening legislation impacting NASA, Space Exploration, satellites, and the militarization of outer space.

That's what is so frustrating. Too many people buy into the cult of personality or pop culture. Vitter was a great example, I don't care if he was a creep to his wife and liked whores, he voted the CORRECT way almost 100 % of the time. Instead people fell for the "Honor Code" bullshite from and ambulance chasing left wing goon.

Why? Honest question. I much prefer Higgins over everyone else in the race. Speak with Higgins in person and I'd bet you have a change of heart. He's pretty darn down to earth and genuine.

He is very good about being out and interacting with his constitutes. He is in Acadia Parish all the time talking to both large and small groups. When a Vietnam vet's remains were returned to Crowley Higgins was present. I respect him for being out and approachable in his district. He got my vote.

He just campaigns on the talking points and half of what he's ever discussed when I was around him was Higgins not living in the district. If you ever ask him about details of something in his talking points, he kind of mutters around it and moves on.
Came off as a guy that just wants to be a politician.

I'm sure that a-hole Scott Angelle is behind this guy. All he is running on is that Higgins voted to raise the debt limit. To me he's coming off as some Ben Sasse a-hole that would just create trouble for our side.
