Is LA Sec of State an elected official? or is he appointed?
He was originally appointed to the vacant post.
He won in 2011 with 8446 votes out of 890786 against a fellow republican.
In his bid for a second full term as secretary of state in the nonpartisan blanket primary held on October 24, 2015, Schedler defeated Chris Tyson, an African-American Democrat from Baton Rouge, 649,153 (62.2 percent) to 394,153 (37.8 percent).
He could get a GOP challenger again. He lost most parishes in 2011, and only won because his home parish voted for him 2-1. Had a strong GOP record up till now.

What exactly has the commission done to politicize this?
they asked for the political party of the voter from every state.

Folks, now we know who we need to vote out of office!
Cause there's no doubt Louisiana got some dead people and shite on our voter rolls.

I get that, I was focusing on the Liberal SOS's of states that actually commit fraud.
Who needs a commission when they can simply rely on your knowledge on this subject.

Well for starters they started with an unsubstantiated presumption that more than 3 million votes were cast illegally or by illegal aliens.

i'm OK with states not giving in but this is EXACTLY why we have and need the electoral system.
Cali and Co can give dems 20+ million illegal votes and their electoral votes count the same.
Although, having states take EVs from their residents is a problem. I guess to not be a hypocrite I'd say it is up to the people of those states to force change in their govt to be more transparent and active about protecting the integrity of their elections.
I'd really like to say you have to adhere to federal regulations to participate in a federal election and that states that don't would not have their EVs counted but....I don't know. That sorta hands more power to the feds.

If it were Obama telling businesses they had to make gay wedding cakes against their will you'd be standing up and clapping you fricking hypocrite.
This isn't even close to that. It's about snuffing out voter fraud, which every American should be for. Exactly what information will they get from this that you are afraid of them having? Your name and address???!!!! Your legal status??!!!! The horror!

and that means those 29 states have admitted to massive voter fraud going on that they let happen and don't want it to be looked into.
heaven forbid we ever have a fair election free from voter fraud

Every state has some lag in their ability to update voter rolls...no big deal. I am now registered to vote (and have done so) in WA but am probably still on the LA registry. The question is whether dead people, illegal residents, etc. actually vote and the answer is very, very, very few. Certainly not enough to worry about and not the 5 million Trump so desperately wants to find so he can sleep at night.
