"Tradition" is what you call the solution to a problem, when society has long forgotten what the problem was.

We're being reminded daily what the problem was.

I think the tradition was that women keep quiet would be the more accurate statement

There are a lot of practical benefits to keeping sex within the confines of marriage. From welfare to abortion to divorce and messed up kids, things would be a lot better if people weren't so "free" with sexuality.

Depends on how far you go back. Traditionally, adulterers of either sex were treated extremely harshly by their communities. Almost any social more enforced by ostracization and shame by one's immediate community is more effective than a legal or retributive action, although I suppose we are entering the space where it becomes nationwide enforcement of proper behavior.

Not every person is equally endowed with character, ethics, honesty and integrity.
Therefore, to say that every married person cheats is false. Some do, some don't.
Cheating is certainly more common today than it was when I was a growing up.

The difference is the sense of shame. There is much less sense of shame today.

Irrefutable TRUTH!

If man lived by Jesus Christ’s teachings all the social decay/immorality ceases immediately.

Too bad "Jesus' teachings" fly right in the face of mans nature.

Christians like Roy Moore and Westboro Baptist are some of the worst scum on earth. But please, keep lifting them up as paragons of Christian virtue. Meanwhile Im jacking off to the religion dying a slow death.

Keep brooding and predicting it’s demise, because it will outlast you.

Try to argue that we need more shame in our society and people will look at you like you've engaged in genocide.

No that's only after we properly enforce shame. Can't put the cart ahead of the horse.

I just can't understand how arguably the most religious population demographic in America struggles the most when it comes to traditional family values.

Scoreboard son

The thing is, I personally admire a lot of Jesus' actual teachings. What I dont admire is filth like Roy Moore and Alabama is choosing to send this man as the representative of their state for the country and world to see. Can't think of much more damaging to the Christian brand.
