they were talking about how this would possibly be seen as less of a big deal if it was a man in the pics (L-O-L)

If this was a man, his name would be Anthony Weiner. Except he was sending dick pics to random women online, not his staff.

He was sending pictures of his staff to an underaged girl.

you cannot choose one or the other. either people are "consenting adults" or they are not. if you want to argue that power position invalidates consent, then fine, katie hill committed a serious offense b/c she had a position of power over both people

In my understanding, the idea of “consenting adults” doesn’t apply at all when there is an employee/employer dynamic at play. You just cannot separate the work relationship and private relationship parts.

I would imagine people are a lot more “consenting” when they feel a job could be at stake both in a positive or negative way.

that's b/c of the power invalidating consent

that was a MAJOR theme of #metoo

however, now that a Democrat-female is facing issues with it, it's not a big deal and just "consenting adults" and "we need to have a conversation about these conservative rules on workplace dating"

My concern is and has always been... her using her staff as frick toys. That is the type of shite that can lead to the blackmailing of a United states congressman.

If she wants to frick a lot of different people...then she should put on a disguise and go frick random people who don't know who she is

I don’t think she needed to put on a disguise as long as she wasn’t fishing for poon in her own office.

Not like she was a face of the party like AOC and the other retards.

it was amazing. they kept talking about how they were "consenting adults" and i just couldn't help but ask myself (in my head, over and over) "what about #MeToo?"

I honestly thought nothing would happen to her. I truly believed that in this current climate, smoking a bong at a swingers convention and fricking staffers would not get her forced or kicked out of Congress.

I guess I'm glad that it did, but honestly, I think the only reason was the Nazi tattoo. She's the daughter of a cop, and should definitely be aware of the connotations of such a tattoo.

So yay human decency? I guess?

“revenge porn” is the talking point ignoring the actual content of the actions.

reading that twitter feed it seems like a lot of "no fricking shite" being written about as a big deal

yeah, millions of millenials have nudes floating around. they should have thought about that at the time and/or when they decided to run for public office. this isn't some "moment" where a "conversation" can do anything

and yeah, we already had this opportunity with Anthony Weiner and the media/left passed, so frick em

Yeah, he’s scum, but he was already out of Congress by then.

I was saying that leaked nudes led to his resignation since they want to say “if this was a man...”

They should have been more precise by saying ...but Duncan Hunter, because that’s the correlation they’re trying to make. Not just a man but a Republican man.

Pretty much.

The charges with substance are there. Pictures of her butt nekkid with a bong and brushing a staffer’s hair are just garnish that gets people to take notice.

Out of office but still married to Hillary’s top aide / surrogate daughter while she was SecState.

So still in the Dem power constellation even without holding office.

Weiner had THREE sexting scandals and only the 3rd involved a minor. the first 2 (the ones that hurt him politically), involved only adults

Is that quid pro quo?

People loose sight that every major corporation in US would have fired her for the relationship with subordinate not because of pictures. Major politics shouldnt be any different.

What’s that saying, “Politics is Hollywood for ugly people”?

and if those are the rules, fine. Hill should have resigned and it has nothing to do with "revenge porn" or "cyber domestic abuse"

and we certainly shouldn't be "having a conversation" about changing THOSE rules back b/c a liberal-DEM, female politician got caught up in the rules

how the frick did she get elected? As a California Democrat too?

Let’s not forget that she’s probably only resigning bc her seat is safely blue though. If there was a hint of swing in her district (pardon the pun), she would stay
