He “could” be sentenced to life in prison?

This is one of the biggest problems with this country. There is never true justice.

Why in the frick should taxpayers pay for this little piece of shite murderer to live his life into his twilight years when he robbed another kid of that exact same thing?

How is that justice?

He should be executed in less than one year. There is no argument to be made the other way.

Doubtful they riot, the grifters just needed some one to grift off if, and this kid will do it for them, and they will act like the shite they said never existed, while pulling those wads of cash out their pockets

It would be amazing if the criminals went to riot and were met with resistance.

Charged with first degree murder but I suspect it get pled down

Texas doesn't have first degree murder. All murder is what other States consider first degree with a sentence ranging from 5 to 99 years in prison.

Capital murder in Texas warrants a possible sentence of death.

That's too bad. He had the right name for a promising basketball career, but decided to take a different path. Sometimes life sucks.

1st degree murder will be hard to prove unless they have other evidence we have not seen.

As I understand it 1st degree is premeditated. Second degree is "it happened as a result of circumstance, i.e. fight). This should be open and shut.

I am not a legal scholar so please feel free to educate me.

First degree murder is the wrong charge. This wasn't premeditated. They could have charged him with 2nd and probably gotten life. Now he'll probably walk.

I don't know why these DA's charge so high for the early headlines. It rarely pays off. Good luck with proving he somehow brought that knife in there intentionally and specifically to kill that kid that day.

bout goddam time I was recognized even though there were one or two greater... the germans and a few rednecks from Tennessee, the state not the university

At least in the Physics Lab where I worked. "Ask friend, he knows everything"

hope this kid experiences the death chamber in Huntsville, TEXAS

He's charged with Capital murder. Overcharged, maybe but he's going down.

Will be interesting to see how Texas handles rioters. Should be a hell of a show.

The cops will be too busy shutting down the weed shops so Dallas will probably burn.

Famous last words

Just a very unfortunate and sad situation compounded by the media coverage and obvious racial optics. Very interested to see what evidence is actually laid out. Self defense cases are always iffy

My understanding is that in Texas, he can still be convicted of the lesser counts.

I don't think there will be riots either

Too many blacks know thet Anthony just walked up to the white kid and stabbed him to death - there is little to no justification even possible
