It remains to be seen whether the South has itself moved on from segregation or if it is still being held back from reimposing such a system.

If you want to bleat about segregation take a trip to Vermont or Maine.

I'm sorry to be rude, but that's the dumbest, most ridiculous statement I've seen around here in a while! Lol
Blacks are not slaves on plantations anymore. In fact, they receive trillions of dollars in welfare, food stamps, and public housing.
But hey...... most of their ungrateful attitudes might just see your prediction come to pass.
Imagine if everyone on government assistance were actually contributing to society instead of freeloading like a parasite...

If we had strictly adhered to 1776 doctrine, Thomas would be out picking cotton somewhere.

Another race has passed the whites in favor of segregation.

The South has proven time and again it will dishonorably treat blacks. When the GI bill was passed southern representatives demanded state administration and then proceeded to deny benefits to black veterans.

When the voting rights act is thrown out soon, it will be another opportunity for the South to make a choice.

My guess is you will see bills making voting more restrictive. White southerns would likely support a poll tax again if allowed.
