I would tend to agree with your overall assessment. If Trump was deeper involved in the l’affaire Epstein, such damaging information would have been leaked by now.
With that said, we all know the files are not being released because they incriminate deeply embedded entities in the permanent reigning bipartisan infrastructure in Washington D.C. So either the Trump DOJ is complicit in that coverup or they simply have no control over the release of such files.
Whatever the case, that the Epstein files have not been released says all you need to know about the inability of any political movement — much less one man — to “reform” the Potomac Beltway. This is yet another reason why Trumpism will ultimately fail and further why any vote in this UniParty® charade is a Sisyphean chore in futility.

It doesn’t matter if he’s on the list or not. They just have to bounce the idea back and forth from 60 Minutes to MSNBC a couple of times, circular reference style, and BOOM it becomes fact.

If you read his statement, he asked for direct knowledge and Epstein refused to give him anything. He doesn't havce Epsteins client list.
He's also subject to attorney client privilege with Trump, This statement is pretty much the kind of non answer you should expect from an attorney protecting his client.
He makes a claim (trumps not in the list), provides evidence that doesn't actually support it (he asked epstein for the list and epstein wouldn't give it to him) and then draws a conclusion from those two that isn't actually supported by the evidence.
He then presented himself as Epsteins attorney when he is in fact Trumps attorney at this point.
Maybe it's true but he provides no evidence and instead fails to disclose who is paying him for the statement.

How about Gislaine Maxwell? Does she have dirt on anyone? After all, she was his right hand woman, with him in every endeavor, every move, good bad and ugly. Wonder why that well of information is still just out there living her life? Weird eh? Do you think that fact lends towards the existence of “the list” and all sorts of other blackmail material, exactly as the drama queens amongst us furiously insist? I agree it sucked, but the alternatives to civic politics seem to me to be perpetual political repression or utter chaos/anachy/cycles-of-retribution both of which don't really appeal to me. I'm kind of a Churchillian least-bad-govt sort. Do you have a utopian vision that we're currently on track to?
