I mean he was ethically obligated to recuse himself. This happens all the time. A senior judge maintains an office space with us. We don't interact with him about our cases or anything at all other than non-work related social interaction. We aren't allowed to try cases in front of him. Judges everywhere tend to recuse themselves if there is a potential conflcit that may cause their ruling to be struck down on appeal. If he hadn't recused, they would have appealed due to said conflict and drug this out even longer.

I've been told politics are local. if the Arizonians and denizens of Maricopa County don't stand for cheating, the hopefully other localities will man-up and do the same.

Correct. The goal of this audit is for Maricopa county to not manufacture 1M fake votes again in 2024. Not change the results of the 2020 election.
