Judge bars US from enforcing Trump administration’s asylum ban

Here we go again with a judge having more sayso about how our government is run as opposed to the person who was elected to do the same. Something stinks with this kind of system.

A federal judge in San Francisco on Monday barred the Trump administration from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally, likely prompting a legal challenge from the White House.
Trump issued a proclamation on Nov. 9 that said anyone who crossed the southern border would be ineligible for asylum.
U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar, who was nominated by President Obama in 2012 to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, issued a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in San Francisco.
The request was made by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights, which quickly sued after President Trump issued the ban this month in response to the caravans of migrants that have started to arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Baher Azmy, a lawyer for the Center for Constitutional Rights, said, "Individuals are entitled to asylum if they cross between ports of entry. It couldn't be clearer."
An estimated 70,000 people a year claim asylum between official ports of entry, including in the Arizona desert and on the north bank of the Rio Grande in Texas, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

I don't understand how judges can do this for the entire country. Hopefully Trump just ignores it

After reading the thread title, my only remaining question was answered in the bold caption. Thanks for making it easy. Should I have even wondered?

I'm just surprised the Hawaiian judge didn't beat the Cali judge to the punch.

He went to UCal Berkeley, his dad was a flaming liberal lawyer who defended Terry Nichols for the Oklahoma City bombing. They shopped the ultimate judge.
At some point the Supreme Court or congress will start restricting judges who continually are over ruled by superior courts. Its clogging up the system with frivolous lawmaking from the bench.

Here again activist federal judges proving that they run the country, not our POTUS. And here again they are doing us harm.
Now, the question is, is this judge correct? Is this a proper interpretation? Because, if it is then it is damn sure time to change the wording of the law.
Someone asked a question one time about if you could go back or forward in time which way would you go and what would your mission be?
My answer is that I would go back and visit with our Founding Fathers, convince them somehow that I was from the future and do my dead-level best to convince them to tweak our Constitution by changing just a few words. Make it more iron clad when it comes to the press, freedom of assembly and speech, our borders, gun rights and birthright citizenship.

Ignore the judges order, just like Obama did many times.

No problem just send it to our newly stacked Supreme Court, RBG will be next

These judges are dumb. They should be more wary of the supreme Court creating law that will frick then up in the long run

Trump should send busses to the border - pick these illegals up - and drop them off at the courthouse in SF with much fanfare.

What will they do if he ignores it? Nothing. Trump should tell them to frick off until the SC rules on this

Does not stop the new process. It used to be we accepted them at the border, then sat them in a tent to await a hearing.
As I understand it now, the border patrol is only processing 100 a day and letting them go sit in a tent. In effect, making them sleep on the dirt in Tijuana and eat refried beans, rather than three squares, cable TV, and AC on our side.
Once the camera crews go home, the liberal NGOs will get tired of mexican food and the side effects, go back to the US, the mejicans will get fed up and send their arses home.
I like the new process it not only stops them from getting in the US, it stops the lack of a "downside". They used to be fed well, their kids attended on site school, they got cable and AC, and the worst that would happen is they got to take their first trip on a plane back home, with new clothes....and we wonder why they come.

These judges know that their rulings might ultimately be overturned, but they hope it's a stalling tactic until it happens. All Trump has to do is ignore the ruling and do what they do, wait until a decision from a higher court.
Start beating them at their own game.

That even rational liberals don't acknowledge the absurdity of localized judges being able to issue national edicts that override a President is an example of the scum that liberals are in general
Posted on 11/20/18 at 6:47 am to Homesick Tiger
The only right answer here is for the President to start ignoring these type of rulings that clearly exceed the authority of such courts
Let it filter to the USSC and get spanked. The stealing tactic would then die

Where were these Judges when Obama was sending pallets of cash to Iran?

It’s okay to legislate from the bench when you mean to RESIST
