My Company is Fortune 100 and has been moving to mostly WFH since COVID. In the process, they have terminated quite a few expensive commercial building leases. The office I reported to no longer exists and, in the building next door, we went from using 3 floors to 1.

Companies can save a lot of money divesting of corporate real estate by promoting WFH.

Also how do you know who is on or off the clock or on personal time when seeing them at the store?

Again, he's an hourly employee. His limited intellectual ability limits his ability to understand things outside of his direct view.

When I was a salaried employee I came and went as I wanted. I went to the grocery store routinely in the middle of the day. This is incomprehensible to him.

So I have a team of sales guys all over the country and my company is supposed to rent offices all over their cities so they can go sit in an office? No it’s not all bad, and if they’re fricking off, it will show in their performance and they will be let go. They’re a lot jobs where WFH is more efficient for the company and I think this example is a good example to where they need to go back. Some ppl sound ignorant saying stuff like this.

Because they tell me. These are not random people. I would not call them friends but acquaintances. These idiots brag about being on the clock while working out. When I point out they are stealing from their company they say their boss is a a-hole. I tell them they should quit then and it usually ends the conversation

Your made up anecdotal evidence to support your argument is noted

Don't worry, us wfh are developing the technology daily to allow you to be home all the time.

IT is the same way. It’s amusing that the anti-WFH folks believe engineers and developers need to be in the office so they can be as miserable as they are.

Why do guys like you care about this then? It’s not like remote work is WFH. Remote salesman have never ‘gone to the office’ like this. Your point is moot.

I don’t have a dog in the fight. My opinion is let the companies decide. If wfh is a priority for people I think that’s great and should certainly be allowed to be a priority in job searches.

The idea that feeling good about office space that costs a lot is a driving factor over the best production environment for employees is laughable to me, but who knows.

WFH will always be an option for some companies. I don’t understand why you guys get so defensive over it. The only reason to get defensive is because you actually are not producing like you would in the office. If you are actually doing better, which don’t get me wrong plenty do, then you will either be valued and allowed to do that or will be able to find another job that allows it.

Why the hell should I pay for commercial real estate? The productivity of my employees is easily measured. I've had zero issues with wfh.
