Love this guy. On top of his game. Doesn't take shite off nobody. Brilliant, IMHO. In the context of debate and stating your case with conviction (and if you like Farage), you'll love this guy.

Jordan Peterson is Brilliant.

But I often find at times to brilliant for me. I was listing to him debate Sam Harris and it made me feel dumb.

But he is very well spoken, illustrates his points very well, and is highly intelligent. If you try to debate an opposing view you better bring your A game with him. He can and has made a lot of people look foolish.

That debate makes 90% of people feel dumb.

In the process of handing their asses to them, he maintains a certain level of civility.

He was on point but more than that the interviewer spent the entire interview trying to put words in his mouth. Damned near every time she asked him something, when she responded with what she thought she heard it was completely different (and then he would have to turn around and correct her).

After watching the whole thing, the point where she admits he got her was especially satisfying.

Nigel Farage? Would be nice if your post or link indicated it was the same UK Channel 4 interview that’s been posted and discussed several times already.

“ no that’s not what I said . What I said was ...”.

By journalistic standards she's a genius.

Love Jordan Peterson. One of the best religious apologists I've heard. Don't agree with him on some things, but he is right about the human craving for archetypal truth. The man actually has answers and freely admits when he moves into points based only on faith.

It gives me great hope to see the resurgence of interest in public intellectuals and debate. Even more heartening is the fact that the most popular ones seem to mostly be on the libertarian right.

He is indeed intelligent, but what I find interesting is that he doesn't necessarily win debates by overpowering his opponents with his own viewpoints.

He does it by using his opponents' own passion and inferior logic against them.

This is basically what he did repeatedly to that feminist lady...

And I love it. Our society's collective decision-making and worldview-shaping has become way too based solely on emotion and feelings. We need some reason and logic warriors to fight back.

That's where he gets his power. He lets the listener draw his/her own conclusion. Philosophical points are most effective when the listener, after reviewing the evidence, arrives at their own conclusion rather than being shouted into submitting. In general, his points are so compelling and well thought out that you have no choice but to agree with him.

Why is he being compared to Farage? Farage is a British nationalist, this guy is a Canadian psychologist...
