Probably wasn't asked.

My guess is because then they would have to vote and then it would pass. But they don't want it to pass. So they would have to go on record and vote no and be exposed for the frauds they are. Or go the easy route and "claim" they don't have the votes and not put it on the floor so they don't have to expose themselves

Hey ChatGPT, what is the most recent clear-cut, old-school instance of the talking filibuster being used in the US Senate?

quote:

Chris Murphy’s gun control filibuster (2016)

Date: June 15–16, 2016

Duration: ~14 hours, 50 minutes

Purpose: Force votes on gun control measures after the Orlando nightclub shooting

Type: Genuine talking filibuster (held the floor continuously to delay Senate business tied to legislation)

?? He explicitly said he would speak “for as long as I can” to block proceedings until leadership agreed to act.

Outcome:

Senate leaders agreed to hold votes on two gun-related measures

Murphy then yielded the floor and ended the filibuster

This whole process has proven one thing. There has not been a single piece of meaningful legislation passed in probably 40 years.

For anything to get passed that makes any substantive changes, there wouldn't have been enough votes.

This means that the US Congress hasn't actually accomplished anything in any of our collective memories.

They don’t want to do it because the majority are illegitimate. Selected, not elected. Ds and Rs… the uniparty
