I haven't heard of this man before today. I'll have to dig up some more stuff on him and I think he has a book.
I believe this interview was late 70's or early 80's.
He says what many here believe the CIA is all about. It took me many years you really start to look critically at these institutions that I have trusted.
The actions of the IC and FBI and DOJ the last decade and particular with Trump in office has really solidified my disgust for the corruption and evil that has occured with these institutions.

We blindly trusted a bunch of faceless bureaucrats and they have dug in deep...

It is probably worse than he describes it...

The FBI was pretty much untouchable under Hoover since he knew where people’s skeletons were hidden.

I think it backslid in the 70s and 80s to a degree once he died and was replaced before the institution really reasserted itself.

A lot of people are just coming to the realization of how corrupt these agencies are and have been and that their government does not exist to protect their freedoms...

It is a hard realization for some folks, especially true believers...

There are a couple of former CIA guys in alt media, Larry Johnson and Ray McGovern, who basically say all of the realists and truth-tellers just wash out in favor of the "yes" men.

I remember reading this once:
quote:

Just before his death, James Jesus Angleton, the legendary chief of counterintelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency, was a bitter man. He felt betrayed by the people he had worked for all his life. In the end, he had come to realize that they were never really interested in American ideals of "freedom" and "democracy." They really only wanted "absolute power."

Angleton told author Joseph Trento that the reason he had gotten the counterintelligence job in the first place was by agreeing not to submit "sixty of Allen Dulles' closest friends" to a polygraph test concerning their business deals with the Nazis. In his end-of-life despair, Angleton assumed that he would see all his old companions again "in hell."

There was some clip making the rounds about six months ago of a CIA guy in the '80's saying all they do is lie and overthrow governments.

It's all bureaucracies and it's in all countries. Australia has a dept to help aborigines. Upon learning that their budget is $4.5 Billion a year their spokesman was asked:
'How is the money spent?'
Answer: 'Uh, Well, there's consulting on a variety of things.'

The FBI was known as the Bureau of Investigation (BOI) and later changed their name to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 1935. The BOI started with 34 employees and has grown to 35,000 with an annual budget of $10 billion today. ($10 billion is what we see, who knows the real number.)

In its infancy, the BOI’s first task was to surveil houses of prostitution to prepare for the enforcement of the Mann Act, otherwise known as the “white slave traffic act”. It’s laughable to me that with so few employees, they were singularly focused on ending sex slavery, and today with 35,000, not so much. Instead, we have 80 agents assigned to look for mean tweets.

To see the CIA at its worst, just study its role in the Vietnam War. That went beyond corruption to where American soldiers' lives were lost.
