John McCain never worked a day in the private sector as an adult

Maybe he had a lemonade stand as a kid but once out of the military he was in Congress for 38 years. He is the textbook definition of a career politician, and that is how he should be remembered.
I simply can’t respect career politicians, regardless of party. They are no different than welfare queens, leeching off the American taxpayer.

Truly an economic genius.
quote:
After leaving the Navy, McCain immediately transitioned to a life in politics. In 1982, the Republican was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona, and was re-elected in 1984. In 1986, he was elected to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate. He also served as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Forces.

The 2018 standard salary for a member of Congress — whether in the House or Senate — is $174,000. As McCain did not have any notable business ties, this is likely the largest driver of his net worth, which Celebrity Net Worth reports at $16 million. He did earn $1.7 million in book sales in 2007 according to TheRichest; however, all of that money was donated to charity. His other significant earnings have come from the sales of various properties.

How he treated his first wife tells you everything you need to know about him
I felt this way at first, but after reading more about it sounds like a marriage that didn't work out.
They had 3 kids. He goes off to war. She gets in car accident. He gets captured. They both have years of rehab. He gets home in 73, they stick it out 6 years trying to make it work, he meets young rich chick, has affair, gets divorced, marries new chick 6 weeks later.
Is it shitty that his first marriage didn't work out and he cheated on her? Yeah.
Did he get back from Vietnam and bounce the minute he saw her crippled and fat? No.

I’m sure his government ties had nothing to do with this

Also he knew that Cindy was the daughter of one of the richest men in Arizona. Her dad had a Budweiser distributorship. When you consider how Arizona has grown and with the exclusive rights to distribute Bud in AZ you can imagine how much money she had and he knew how much money he was marrying into. Though he treated his first wife like shite he has admitted to acting badly and he did take care of his children. Even though he was a war criminal the way he stood up to Trump makes him ok.

You really want to be a supporter of President Bone Spurs and go down this hole?

This is so tired.
"Bone spurs". STFU
Would it have really made a fricking difference? Go suck Clinton's draft dodging cock.

This is tired for your idiotic point. Trump is a draft dodger, so frick you with “private sector” bullshite. Relevant to maybe Debbie Wasserman Shultz, but not to McCain who stayed behind in Vietnam for his comrades.

Typical room temperature IQ Trumpkin. I’ve been calling Bill Clinton a rapist for years and a major reason I didn’t vote for Hillary, so frick off simpleton.

Didn’t do shite to help this country
Posted on 8/27/18 at 7:26 pm to weagle99
So he served our country for all of his adult life.

George Patton never worked a day in the private sector. McCain and his first wife’s relationship is or was known only to them. Most of the criticism of McCain I read here is rehashed, unattributed nonsense promulgated by the Russians (yes) in retribution for his famous quote about W and Putin. (Member?: W said looked into his eyes and saw soul. McCain said looked into his eyes and saw three things...K, G, B.). I, too, do not think McCain faithfully represented his Arizona constituents at all times. However, I don’t live there. He was a good American who tried to do the right thing. Maybe he just wasn’t up to it. He was tortured for 6 years because he refused a release unless all others captured before him went first. THAT is the defining moment of his captivity and heroism. Anything contrary is meaningless slander.

And the melt continues.
We get it.
You guys weren't fond of McCain.

One guy answered to call when his nation called at a time of war.
The other one won a bowling trophy while claiming he had bone spurs.
It makes a difference.
