You literally spent half the thread downplaying or deflecting from the clear manipulations by Obama-era officials, then pretended it was all just a “difference of opinion.” That’s exactly what defending looks like.
You can keep saying “I did not,” but when every reply minimizes the abuse of power or reframes it as a valid perspective, you’re not neutral…you’re running cover.
Your intellectual dishonesty isn’t subtle. It’s right out in the open for everyone to see.

He stalled and pushed everything down the road. It’s what he was supposed to do. This massive government bureaucracy we have likes the status quo.

His example is one of actual fraud and he was prosecuted for it.

No
I spent this thread educating y'all why these prosecutions are unlikely to be fruitful
I even explained pages ago how this is specifically not a defense or commentary of the underlying actions

The posts don't do this, though.

If my memory serves he got a felony conviction and probation

There was no criminality for him to find.
In fact, the reality is that Russian intelligence, based in St Petersburg did try to influence the 2016 election, primarily online, they wanted to create mistrust and doubt if they couldn’t get the result they wanted.
Tulsi has tried to create a strawman by concluding the Russians didn’t try to affect vote counts registered by machines in some areas. That was never what election interference by the Russians was about and Gabbard knows it…

At no point have you admitted this behavior deserves prosecution or even condemnation. Instead, you openly called these actions “subjective opinions” and totally ignored the blatant misconduct.
That’s not just minimizing, that’s full-on defending. Don’t pretend otherwise. You’re defending abuse of power by dressing it up as “opinion.”
Stop dodging. Own it.

quote:oh probation. Wow that's quite a penalty. Did he complete probation? I can see why you're holding him up as your proof of accountability for the frickery around Russiagate. What about the DC Bar? Surely they came down pretty hard on him. Or was there frickery there as well?

Taibbi laid it out the best. He points out that the “reassessed” intel was being leaked to the press on the same day as the Obama meeting on Dec 9th. So before the new assessment could even be drafted, its conclusions -which were diametrically opposed to the original intelligence- were already smeared all over the Washington post- proving Obama and his inner circle dictated what they wanted the assessment to say. And this meeting wasn’t filled with agents working the case, sussing out the truth… it was 100% top level political appointees. So to suggest the shift was rooted in intelligence is asinine - especially considering there was no underlying intelligence to support it.
And we know it came from the top since idiot Clapper submitted a memo saying that Obama personally asked for the revised assessment.
Here’s the article. Note the date

Clinesmith was sentenced by none other than old Judge Boasberg.

Follow the timeline.
IC has an assessment that says Russia didn’t influence the election results, likely never tried, and didn’t favor Trump.
Brass finds out, panics, and Clapper pauses the president’s briefing on it.
Obama pulls inner circle in to discuss on Dec 9th 2016 to allegedly task them with taking another look.
That SAME DAY the CIA leaks to the WaPo that the “Russia Worked to Elect Trump”.
#spycraft
