People are missing the boat here. The revealing information isn’t that he set up a task force to investigate Trump, it’s the date. What people should want to know is exactly when did they start and what was the predicate information used to justify their actions. As has been revealed with the FISA warrants, the information used to obtained the warrants was unreliable and not properly verified. We already know about the investigation irregularities the FBI has with the FISA warrants and the Flynn case, I want to know how many corners were cut and internal processes not followed in the CIA investigation?

It’s both. The CIA isn’t supposed to investigate US citizens. It was put in their charter precisely because the President at the time feared it could become a politically motivated agency and their power would be abused.

Depending on the circumstances and facts, you are correct. That is why I pointed the “when” was important. In this case, Sperry is reporting that Brennan started the task force before the launch of the FBI probe. So the question is, when did it start and what information was so alarming and verifiable that a secret task force needed to be launched with its own budget to investigate?

one missed part in all of this is that Trump has long had his own task force, and his task force has completely outperformed the govt's.
