When Alexander Bortnikov, the head of Russia’s internal security service, told me during an early August 2016 phone call that Russia wasn’t interfering in our presidential election, I knew he was lying. Over the previous several years I had grown weary of Mr. Bortnikov’s denials of Russia’s perfidy — about its mistreatment of American diplomats and citizens in Moscow, its repeated failure to adhere to cease-fire agreements in Syria and its paramilitary intervention in eastern Ukraine, to name just a few issues.

When I warned Mr. Bortnikov that Russian interference in our election was intolerable and would roil United States-Russia relations for many years, he denied Russian involvement in any election, in America or elsewhere, with a feigned sincerity that I had heard many times before. President Vladimir Putin of Russia reiterated those denials numerous times over the past two years, often to Donald Trump’s seeming approval.

Russian denials are, in a word, hogwash...

...The already challenging work of the American intelligence and law enforcement communities was made more difficult in late July 2016, however, when Mr. Trump, then a presidential candidate, publicly called upon Russia to find the missing emails of Mrs. Clinton. By issuing such a statement, Mr. Trump was not only encouraging a foreign nation to collect intelligence against a United States citizen, but also openly authorizing his followers to work with our primary global adversary against his political opponent.

Such a public clarion call certainly makes one wonder what Mr. Trump privately encouraged his advisers to do — and what they actually did — to win the election. While I had deep insight into Russian activities during the 2016 election, I now am aware — thanks to the reporting of an open and free press — of many more of the highly suspicious dalliances of some American citizens with people affiliated with the Russian intelligence services.

Mr. Trump’s claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash

It’s pretty long, the parts quoted are only about 1/4 of it

for a serious reply (to the quotes in OP only)

quote:

thanks to the reporting of an open and free press

obvious virtue signaling

quote:

Mr. Trump’s claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash

well considering that there isn't really a definition of collusion (in the criminal context), no shite. it can be anything you want

This the same guy who testified he wasn’t aware of any evidence of Trump colluding?

But now he’s falling back on his statement regarding HRC’s emails?

This is what they hang the whole Colluison theory on...a off the cuff joke because Hillary claimed she deleted 33,000 emails that were just about yoga and stuff. Then Brennan claims that he knows Russia did it because of media reports? Yeah. Media reports that were written with leaked “information” from Brennan, Ohr, Strok and Page.

Such BS it’s not even funny.

The way these people blame Russians for everything that is going wrong for them,
is a lot like the way the Nazis blame the Jews for everything wrong.

If he knew the Russians had been meddling for 10 years, as director of the CIA, why didn’t he do something about it?

That was his job.

I keep trying to read past this part but the tears of laughter cloud my vision every time.

So he admits Russia has been doing this for years, way before Trump was ever in the picture, and the previous administration knew and did not do anything. Good to know.

And who was president during this time? Did he say anything about Russian flexibility after elections or a stand down order on investigations?

The assclown loses all credibility from the start with nonsense like this.

The Left needs to stop this stupid narrative claiming Trump “asked Russia to hack us”, or “gave them tacit authorization to meddle”.

That’s such incredible bullshite.

Anyone with a brain who’s intellectually honest knows Trump’s comment was not only tongue-in-cheek sarcasm, but he very clearly said “IF THEY HAVE THEM” then he’d love to see them.

It’s unquestionably a past tense statement. There was no present or future tense granting of authorization. It was very clearly stating that IF IF IF they had already (meaning previously... in the past) hacked us and stolen Hillary’s emails, then just let everyone see them... yuk yuk ha ha ha.

Anyone who insists this is a “request to hack us” or tacit authorization or frames this as anything but sarcasm is a dishonest piece of shite who stupidly thinks honest people are fools they can manipulate with obvious twisted context and purposeful misrepresentation.

Anyone who’s honest should instantly realize Brennan is a dishonest piece of shite after seeing him attempt this.

And like with the germans and jews... our modern day American socialists will eventually justify any action taken against Russia.

We already see them justifying spying on political candidates and leaking everything possible in an attempt to "get trump".. even though evidence has not been presented to our nation that gives us proof that Russia hacked the dnc.

This is what I thought, and he is head of the CIA, he is supposed to stop it. This guy is a clown, a real clown and making himself look more foolish, and guilty, by the day.
