Now JBE might appoint or hire him to serve in his administration.

Hearing rumors of him as Commissioner with Jay to LSU.

Metrically one of the worst states I the nation and this is his high point. Laughable.

frick John Alario. He and others like him are what's wrong with Louisiana. Glad his corrupt arse won't be in the legislature next time around.

Whether or not you like the man personally or his politics. John Alario served 48 years in the La. House and Senate from 1971-2019. Nothing has gotten through the legislature without his support since the days of EWE through JBE. This included any state funding earmarked for LSU. So it wasn't surprising to see him sitting beside JBE at the Heisman Awards ceremony. Alario has worked alongside both Democratic and Republican governors.

Dude our state has been ran into the fricking ground by politicians. You want to honor him. I want to throw him in jail. GTFO!!

Sounds an awful lot like you’re saying that it’s ok to receive political favors for votes.

I’m well aware of how things work but it sounds like you’re actually advocating for the way it should not work.

John Alario is dog shite wrapped in human skin.

That corrupt bastard is a disciple of Edwin Edwards. Alario learned from the best there is on how to be a corrupt grifter that does nothing positive at all and constantly makes sure everything he participates in has his palms getting greased.

frick Bobby Jindal for allowing that poisonous snake into the GOP.

I will believe that Alario is not trying to screw us anymore when he doesn't have a pulse in his neck and they throw dirt on his face.

How did he stay in so long with term limits?

He was buddies with both Gov. Murphy Foster and Gov. Bobby Jindal as well. Every governor had to cut and make deals with him. That's how government works.

At this point, you're just rationalizing a way to keep asking to drink more of that horse piss they keep giving you while they gaslight you about how they have Louisiana's best interests at heart.

People like you are disgusting and a good example of why Louisiana is stuck in the squalor it is now.

He didn't have a choice. He had the votes to be Senate president with or without Jindal.

Too bad Jindal was too much of a political hack obsessed with a pie in the sky Presidential run that was going to go nowhere to issue a public statement and let people who are not political junkies know that John Alario is a corrupt Edwin Edwards disciple, is not a trustworthy conservative and should not be Senate President.

John Alario is just another part of the shameful Jindal legacy.

Spitting into the wind. Would have served no purpose.

Alario is a VERY good politician. He got Jindal's education reforms passed. And make no mistake, if Vitter had been elected, Alario would have been his Senate president.

He didn't become Speaker of the House AND President of the Senate by accident.

Didn’t Lee Zurik bust him for leasing a BMW, then a Kia and Saints and LSU tickets were being funneled through his campaign funds and PACs?

Fox 8 Lee Zurik

It might seemed shady, but I guess no one found anything.

Yeah I know. Just frustrating and infuriating to watch this old a-hole reaping the benefits of his massive grift and corruption while this state is still stuck in the 48th-50th in all the wrong metrics.

The day Alario exhales his very last breath will be a great day for Louisiana.

LSU is a beautiful campus because of the way it was planned but too many buildings were shitty when I was there 30 years ago and too many buildings are shitty now. Thanks, John for keeping LSU on the shitty spectrum.
