And our fricking politicians are too chickenshit to do anything about it.

John Adams made a terrifying prediction. America is close to proving him correct

Well, if it's over, I mean to be the first to support Trump as our new dictator. Who's with me?

That’s because it’s human nature for those in control to want unchecked absolute power over the other “lesser” humans

Yep. Easy times make soft people.

Each generation has it better than the next and people get spoiled and lazy.
Add in to how our educational system has uterly failed to teach our kids proper American history and progressive teachers......
It's not all of em, but enough to matter.

They've been compromised since Adams' day. He saw it. So did Washington.

John Adams is making the argument against creating a democracy for the United States…

Which is why the Founding Fathers gave us a Constitutional Republic.

People are ultimately retards.

Democracy always eventually votes itself into a totalitarian regime.

We would have to suspend it to fix it. That goes against democracy.

This outcome is not inevitable. It can still be avoided, but only if the American people understand the magnitude of the threat and insist that Washington act before the crisis arrives.

Yeah, it's over then.

The founders were right when they didn’t let everyone vote. The fact that we let everybody vote like women, dei people, Catholics, Italians, etc that’s what’s ruining everything

Ultimately, the truth is that our level of debt only matters insofar servicing the debt is not a strain for the federal government.

The fact we have a buttload of debt does not matter in abstract. We can effectively never plan to pay it down to zero nor should we because our debt is a form of soft power over the rest of the world.

However, we do need to manage the debt but I've not seen a story about concerns regarding servicing our debt that isn't just because of politicking around the budget creating liquidity issues.
