We've been in Djibouti for a hot minute. This isn't anything groundbreaking.

Family friend in the service is about to be on his way there right now. This has been planned for quite some time because he has known he was going for months. Just had to wait on approval.

Then suddenly the crap in Sudan fires up right before these planned deployments, and my adamant belief that these global conflicts are all choreographed and planned, is further reinforced.

We've had ops going on there for decades. Just do a little bit of research people.

Then why the sudden, formal declaration of WAR from POTATUS?

When was the last time that was done?

It wasn't a declaration of War... Anytime he uses military forces outside of authorized use, he has a limited amount of time to inform Congress of his actions...

This is nothing new and not really a gotcha on the administration...

I don't really get the desire to dunk on the administration for sending troops to get our people out. It went off without a hitch. What is the problem exactly?

Is a War Powers Resolution necessary for a brief rescue mission?

I am providing this report as part of my efforts to keep the Congress fully informed, consistent with the War Powers Resolution (Public Law 93-148).

He didn't issue a War Powers Resolution, he reported to Congress the use of military personnel in accordance with the law...

The War Powers Resolution (also known as the War Powers Resolution of 1973 or the War Powers Act) (50 U.S.C. ch. 33) is a federal law intended to check the U.S. president's power to commit the United States to an armed conflict without the consent of the U.S. Congress.

It was passed in hopes of stopping us from getting into another Vietnam...

Yes, the letter is required.

Biden is getting us involved in a new war
by evacuating people from Sudan? Did you even read what you posted?

I'm not a Biden supporter but this is just stupid. I'd say do better, but I doubt you're capable.

One would assume so, considering the evacuees were the staff of the US embassy or members of the US foreign service.
