I think the biggest problem is the "plan". It is an art to understand how to get evidence presented in a way that benefits your argument.
When I refused to give such an answer, he asked the judge to direct me to answer in a "yes/no" fashion. I told the judge that I had promised not to lie on the stand and that answering in such a manner would be a lie.
Judge instructed me to give my answer. I did. Lawyer's pants were down.

Hank's unforced error in this thread wasn't the "dumb student" quote. He could have simply claimed to have happened upon it and not realized its origination.
But, when I outed WHO wrote the column on him, he then went on to defend DiPrima and portray himself as knowledgeable on DiPrima.
