sorry, all immigration, including h1b visa should have a 5 year pause, period. no exceptions. Review all h1b visa in that time frame and implement very very strict rules on their use going forward after that and go back to old origins quota system. fricking LBJ is still fricking this country.

Agree, and I can't stand these idiots who simultaneously trash the American education system and American college graduates while at the same time assume every single Indian is some super genius because of the supposedly superior Indian education system and Indian college graduates

Every time I've hired for a role in my current job I've had to sift through hundreds of fraudulent Indian resumes as well as ignore consultancies like Tata and Cognizant who reach out to me saying they have a slate of contractor candidates who I can hire to fill the opening at a fraction of what we would have to pay a full time employee.

These consultancies exist to get fake candidates with fraudulent credentials through a hiring process. Every Indian I've ever worked that came from one of these consultancies was a total fraud who had no clue what the frick they were doing. And yet these bozos who are always trashing the American college grad as lazy and entitled think these Indians are automatically superior

My fiancée is running into this hard with dental students. Every successive class just seems to get dumber on average, fewer seem to be interested in becoming skilled professionals and more about checking boxes for graduation requirements. Coupled with the flood of "digital dentistry" tools, they just want to learn point-and-click workflows without understanding the fundamentals. Their business plans involve getting out with their DMD, buying $500k in digital equipment and software, churn out junk dentures and implants, work 3 - 4 days a week, and make $300k+/year. There are plenty who already do that too.

Which may be true but the problem is a lot of people will use this as an excuse to import a never ending conga line of foreigners becaue they assume that these foreigners automatically have superior education, superior dental education in this instance which is just not the case

A lot of these foreigners get their degrees and credentials through fake degree mills

yep, fraud, fraud, fraud. the ones from Nepal are the same way. 100% fraudsters. and if they do not have a degree from a school in the US...its more than 75% chance its fake as frick.

yep and like you have said..if an indian gets in power in terms of hiring and firing...expect the whole department to be family or friends from india within 3 years and prolly sooner.

this is just as big of a deal as the rest of immigration. total fricking bullshite

A big part of this, is college athletes with "sports administration" degrees and green-hairs with "feminine studies" diplomas.

Thankfully there are many still out there that understand the value of hard work in and of itself and also the profound usefulness of a trade school diploma.

You need to shut up and become a plumber so you can service some H1B’s toilet

A lot of the H1B’s come with zero education debt too bc their countries of origin oftentimes pay it for them. Meanwhile Americans in those same jobs are broke for years paying off similar education.

Fortunately, with dental credentialing at least, foreign-trained dentists face significant re-training before obtaining licenses here.

and Elon and others say they cant find the americans to do the jobs which is total bullshite

Elon has about 1750 H1b's in all his companies, new and coninued...that's out of 146,000 or so employess. 1.2% of his workforce...he's hardly driving the trend.

Let's not forget, Elon was a H1b at one time as well. That might be why he talks so highly of it.

In 15-25 years it will be plumbers who are building rockets and vacation homes on Mars

They gotta stop handing out loans like candy before we should ever consider canceling any debt.

Guaranteed loans for highly qualified applicants in high demand fields only.

Apparently, lots of youngsters take loans to pursue a STEM degree then promptly find themselves way over their heads in coursework. They switch majors to high altitude basket weaving and plan to pursue a PhD.
